I sat in class, my eyes on the board but my mind miles away. Thoughts of his and our strange connection kept pulling me attention from the lesson. By the time the lunch break finally came, I was feeling restless.

Myra, full of energy as usual, stood up from her chair and stretched. "You know what, Veda? I feel like eating some junk food today," she said, giving me a look that practically screamed, Can you buy some for both of us?

I let out a sigh, but couldn't help but smile at her friend. I stood up, shaking my head. "Alright, what do you want?"

Myra's face lit up instantly, and without thinking, she threw her arms around me in a tight hug. "You're the best! Okay, maybe some burgers or fries, anything greasy!" she said excitedly.

But just as we were about to head out, the professor called Myra over to discuss her last assignment. Myra's smile faded, and she groaned internally, glancing at me with disappointment.

Seeing her expression, I gave her a small smile. "You go with the professor. I'll take care of the food," I said gently. Myra perked up again, grateful. "You're a lifesaver, Veda!"

With that, I grabbed my bag and headed out of the classroom, making my way toward the food shop near the campus gate. I couldn't help but wonder if she'd cross paths with him again.

I walked into the food store, Just as I was about to place the order, I froze. There, standing by the counter, was Rohan. His eyes locked on mine instantly. My heart sank.

I quickly turned, trying to rush out of the store before he could approach me, but it was too late. I felt his hand wrap around my wrist, pulling me back. "I saw you yesterday at the food street," he said, his tone sharp, almost possessive. "Who was that guy with you?"

My heart raced, unease settling in. I thought I had managed to avoid him yesterday, but he had seen me. His grip tightened on my wrist, and I winced as pain shot through me. "Let go of my wrist, you're hurting me," I said, my voice shaking with a mix of pain and anger.

I tried to pull away, but his hold only grew stronger. I felt trapped, my pulse quickening with frustration. Just as I was about to shout, the door of the store opened, and Rajveer walked in. His eyes were on his phone at first, but then he looked up-and his expression changed instantly. He saw me, his eyes narrowing as they moved from me to Rohan's hand gripping my wrist.

I could see the shift in Rajveer's face, his anger rising. He didn't say a word at first, but within seconds, he was next to us. He grabbed Rohan's hand, forcing him to let go of me with a single, powerful movement. I quickly pulled my hand back, rubbing my aching wrist. The look on Rajveer's face was unlike anything I'd ever seen-ferocious, protective.

"If I see you around her again, I will make you feel regret on the fact that you born." Rajveer growled, his voice low and threatening, his eyes burning with intensity as he glared at Rohan. I had never seen him like this before.
