Jamie was gonna host a Halloween party tonight. She had everything ready. Candy, Halloween decorations scattered all over her yard, pizzas, snacks, and music. She was dressed a witch. She had on a witches hat, thigh high socks with green and white stripes, and shiny, black high heels.
Her buddies, Zack, Roberto, and Gwendolyn, were gonna be at her house soon. It was an overcast evening, with temperatures hovering over 70 degrees, with a hint of fog on the horizon. A touch of humidity was in the air as well, with bursts of heavy rain expected later, but it wouldn't interfere with any trick or treaters, whatsoever.
The pizza man came and already delivered the pizzas. Jamie was waiting for everyone to show up. It was gonna be a fun Thursday night. Little did she know, disappointment was in the forecast.
No over showed up. Zack had to rush her daughter to the hospital, Roberto's car broke down, and Gwendolyn had to stay late at her job.
Baffled at everyone's absence, Jamie sulked while, eating the pizzas all by herself. Even eating pizza failed to cheer her up. If that wasn't bad enough, she hardly got any trick or treaters.
This Halloween was for naught.
