Bible sat at his desk, typing furiously to meet his project deadline, when he felt the familiar presence of his boss looming over him. He didn’t even have to look up to know that Jeff was standing there, likely with that signature smirk on his face.

“Working hard, Mr. Bible?” Jeff’s smooth voice practically purred. His tone was light but carried an undertone that always left Bible slightly on edge.

Bible kept his focus on the screen, trying to act as though Jeff’s playful words didn’t affect him. “Just getting things done, sir.”

“Hmm, that’s what I like to hear,” Jeff responded, circling around Bible’s desk like a predator stalking its prey. “But don’t you think you deserve a little break?”

Bible swallowed, keeping his expression neutral. “I’ll take a break when I’m done.”

Jeff leaned down, so close that Bible could feel the warmth of his breath against his neck. “I could help you with that... if you’d like.”

Bible’s fingers froze above the keyboard. He finally turned his head to look at Jeff, who was standing dangerously close, his dark eyes filled with amusement.

“With what, exactly?” Bible asked, raising an eyebrow.

Jeff straightened up, feigning innocence, but his mischievous grin gave him away. “Oh, you know. Anything you need.”

Bible sighed, trying to keep his cool, though his heart was racing from the way Jeff was looking at him. He had been at the company for a few months now, and since day one, Jeff had made it a habit to flirt with him every chance he got. At first, Bible thought it was just how Jeff was with everyone, but it quickly became clear that the attention he received was... different.

“Thank you, but I’m fine,” Bible replied curtly, turning back to his work, hoping that would end the conversation.

But Jeff wasn’t one to give up so easily. He took a seat on the corner of Bible’s desk, leaning slightly closer again. “Come on, Bible. Don’t tell me you’re immune to my charms.”

Bible’s lips twitched, fighting back a smile. “I’m trying.”

Jeff chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the game. “I have a feeling you’ll fail.”

Before Bible could respond, Jeff reached over and plucked a pen off the desk, twirling it between his fingers casually. “So... any plans this weekend?” Jeff asked, voice low and casual, but his eyes were fixated on Bible with undeniable interest.

“Not really,” Bible replied, trying to act nonchalant.

Jeff grinned. “Perfect. I know this great spot downtown—fancy cocktails, great music... You should join me.”

Bible stared at him for a moment, caught off guard by the invitation. Was this just another one of Jeff’s teasing remarks, or was there something more behind it? The line between work and personal had always been blurred with Jeff.

“You’re asking your employee out for drinks, sir?” Bible asked cautiously.

Jeff winked, leaning even closer. “Oh, Bible, I’m not asking as your boss... I’m asking as someone who’d really like to get to know you better.”

Bible’s heart skipped a beat at the directness of Jeff’s words. He was used to the flirty banter, but this was new territory. And as much as he tried to resist, there was something about Jeff’s confidence and charm that made it difficult to say no.

After a long pause, Bible finally gave a small nod. “Okay... I’ll think about it.”

Jeff’s smile widened, clearly pleased with the answer. He stood up, adjusting his suit jacket, and with one last glance at Bible, he walked away.
