The roar of the crowd was deafening. Thousands of fans screamed, cheered, and waved their arms in the air, all eyes focused on the man standing center stage, his voice pouring out into the sea of people like a force of nature. Jeff's presence on stage was electric, captivating everyone in the arena. His voice carried emotion, energy, and raw talent—he was born for this moment.
But amid the thousands of fans, only one pair of eyes watched with more intensity than the rest.
Bible stood near the side of the stage, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets, leaning against a railing. His heart swelled with pride every time Jeff hit a high note or threw a cheeky smile at the crowd. Jeff was in his element, owning the stage with the confidence and charm that had captured Bible's heart long before the fame. Watching him now, Bible couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of awe.
This was the man he loved.
He remembered the first time they met at a small, intimate gig in a tiny club. Bible had been dragged there by friends, not particularly interested in the music scene. But then Jeff had walked out, guitar in hand, and from the first chord he played, Bible was hooked. Not just by the music, but by Jeff himself—the way his voice seemed to tell stories Bible wanted to hear for the rest of his life.
Now, Jeff was performing for thousands, and Bible stood in the shadows, but his heart was bursting with pride. Jeff had come so far, and Bible had witnessed every step of the journey—the rehearsals, the late nights writing new songs, the self-doubt that Jeff sometimes tried to hide but couldn’t from him. Bible had been there for all of it, supporting him quietly, loving him more every day.
As Jeff finished one of his hit songs, the crowd erupted in applause. Bible couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across his face. Jeff’s eyes scanned the crowd before he caught sight of Bible near the side of the stage. Their eyes met, and for a moment, it was like they were the only two people in the room.
Jeff's expression softened, a private smile just for Bible. Without a word, he raised a hand to his heart, tapping it lightly before pointing towards Bible—a small, hidden gesture that only the two of them shared. Bible nodded, his chest tightening with emotion.
He didn’t need words to know what Jeff was saying.
You’re always with me.
Jeff continued with his set, the energy in the arena buzzing. Bible leaned back, content to watch, knowing Jeff was in his world, doing what he loved most. And even though Bible wasn't in the spotlight, he knew his place was right here—supporting, loving, and cheering Jeff on from the sidelines. That was all he needed.
When the concert ended, the audience's cheers echoed like thunder, but Bible stayed put as the crowd began to disperse. He knew Jeff would come looking for him, as he always did after a performance. Sure enough, just a few minutes later, Jeff emerged from backstage, still buzzing with post-performance adrenaline. His eyes immediately sought out Bible.
Without a word, Jeff walked over and wrapped his arms around Bible, pulling him into a tight embrace. Bible smiled into the hug, holding him close.
“You were amazing,” Bible whispered against Jeff’s ear.
Jeff pulled back just enough to look into Bible’s eyes. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Bible shook his head. “You’ve always had it in you.”
Jeff chuckled softly. “Maybe. But it’s easier when I know you’re here.”
They stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms as the last of the crowd trickled out of the venue. It didn’t matter that the lights were dimming, or that the crew was packing up around them. In that moment, it was just the two of them, and that was all they needed.
Bible kissed Jeff softly on the forehead. “I’m proud of you.”
Jeff smiled, his eyes bright. “And I’m lucky to have you.”
