The long dining table of the Park mansion was filled with the familiar faces of Jimin's family, but something was different tonight. The usual chatter of his brothers, his mother's cold indifference, and his father's authoritative presence blended together in a haze. Jimin, as always, sat at the far end of the table, quietly picking at his food, careful not to draw attention to himself. It was easier that way—staying invisible.

But tonight, something caught his attention. Someone was sitting in his usual spot, and not just anyone—a girl he'd never seen before. She was sitting confidently, like she belonged, and from the way his brothers were talking to her, it was clear she wasn't just a guest.

"Hey, nerdy, what are you staring at?" Jaehwan's voice broke Jimin's thoughts. "Get to the corner, no one needs you here."

Jimin lowered his head and did as he was told, quietly moving to a seat at the far end of the table without protest. His brothers always found a way to make him feel small, and tonight was no different. But this time, there was a new figure—someone who seemed to fit in with them far more than he ever had.

He glanced at the girl again. She was stunning, with long, straight hair and a poised demeanor, dressed elegantly in designer clothes. Her gaze swept over Jimin once, briefly, but there was no acknowledgment. To her, he was as invisible as he was to the rest of his family.

His father entered the room, and like clockwork, everyone straightened up. The air in the room shifted, tense with the weight of his presence. Jimin held his breath, waiting for the inevitable—his father's usual cold treatment. As expected, his father greeted everyone warmly, but when his eyes passed over Jimin, they didn't linger.

What surprised Jimin was the way his father walked straight to the girl, wrapping her in a welcoming hug as if she'd been part of the family forever. His mother did the same, smiling as if this girl was the light of her life. "Welcome to the Park family," she said softly, her tone dripping with affection that Jimin had never known.

Jimin flinched, his hands gripping the edge of the table. *Welcome to the Park family?* He hadn't heard a word about this. No one had thought to tell him anything. He had been kept in the dark, as always. His brothers talked to the girl like they'd known her for years, calling her by name: Mina.

Mina. The name echoed in Jimin's mind, even though she hadn't been introduced to him. The conversation flowed smoothly between her and his brothers, and Jimin was left alone, as usual, ignored like a shadow in the corner.

He glanced back at Mina, trying to figure out where she came from, but something about her made him uneasy. There was a smugness in the way she smiled, especially when her gaze flickered in his direction. She didn't look at him with curiosity or kindness, but with something colder—something almost cruel. It was as if she already knew she was taking his place in more ways than one.

Dinner dragged on, with Jimin feeling more out of place than ever. He stayed quiet, not bothering to engage in the conversation he was clearly not a part of. When the meal finally ended, he stood, ready to retreat to the only sanctuary he had—his room. But just as he turned to leave, his father's voice cut through the air like ice.

"Hey, you. Wait."

Jimin froze, shocked. His father never spoke to him unless it was to criticize him. He barely called Jimin by name, always referring to him in the coldest, most detached way possible. Slowly, Jimin turned to face him, a sense of dread filling his chest.

His father barely looked at him, his tone harsh and indifferent. "You need to move out of your room. We're giving it to Mina."

Jimin's heart stopped. *My room?*

For a moment, he stood there, rooted in place, disbelief washing over him. His room was the only place in this vast, empty mansion that felt like his. It wasn't much, but it was where he could be alone, away from the harshness of his family. His sanctuary. And now they were taking that from him too?

He wanted to say something, to argue, but the words caught in his throat. He knew it would be useless. His father never cared about what he wanted. He swallowed hard, trying to suppress the sudden urge to cry.

Before he could respond, he saw Mina smirking from the other side of the table. Her eyes locked with his, and for the briefest moment, her smile twisted into something sinister, something mocking. She knew exactly what she was doing—taking what little Jimin had left. And she was enjoying it.

Jimin's hands clenched into fists by his sides, but he kept his head down. It wasn't worth it. Nothing was worth it.

His father's voice came again, cold and final. "She'll also be joining you at your high school. Since she's part of our family now, make sure she's welcomed properly."

Jimin's heart sank even further. She wasn't just taking his room—she was going to be part of his life, his school. There would be no escaping her.

His mother's voice followed, sharp and cutting. "At least Mina brings some value to this family. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from her."

Jimin flinched again, the words striking harder than he expected. He had heard it all before—the disappointment in their voices, the constant comparisons—but hearing it now, with Mina sitting there, smug and self-assured, felt worse than ever.

He bowed his head slightly and excused himself, retreating quickly to what was left of his room, shutting the door behind him. Inside, the familiar walls that had once brought him comfort now felt like they were closing in on him. Tears pricked at his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. Not yet.

Leaning against the door, Jimin exhaled shakily. This was just the beginning. And somehow, he knew that Mina wasn't going to stop at just his room.
