The next morning, the usual chill of the Park mansion hung in the air as Jimin stood at the entrance, waiting for the family driver. He couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that filled his chest. He knew today would be no different—Mina would be there, the new family member who seemed to steal not only his room but also his place in the family.
As the car pulled up, the driver stepped out, a stiff smile on his face. "Good morning, Jimin. I'm here to take you and Mina to school."
Mina climbed into the backseat first, her presence filling the car with an air of arrogance. The driver shot Jimin a look, one that communicated the unspoken hierarchy he was now a part of: Mina first, always.
"Make sure to take good care of Mina," the driver said, as if Jimin wasn't even there. "She's new and needs help finding her way."
Jimin clenched his fists, biting his tongue to hold back the words that threatened to spill out. He hated that look of pity he often received from maids, drivers, and gardeners. It was a constant reminder of his place, one he was desperate to change.
The car came to a stop at the school entrance, and Mina stepped out with an air of confidence, looking around as if she owned the place. Jimin followed slowly, trying to keep his head down. As Mina strutted away, casting a disdainful glare back at him, he felt the familiar sting of being invisible in his own family.
Just as he stepped forward to enter the school, a racing bike came to a screeching halt in front of him, nearly giving him a heart attack. Jimin cursed under his breath, feeling his heart race for a different reason as the rider lifted his helmet.
"Captain Min Yoongi," Jimin thought, his secret boyfriend, and the person who made his heart race in ways no one else could. He had been hiding their relationship for the past eight months, and now, standing in front of him was the very reason for the warm blush spreading across his cheeks.
Yoongi smirked at him, his playful demeanor breaking through the morning gloom. "Did I scare you?" he asked, a teasing light in his eyes.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Jimin shot back, trying to sound annoyed, but it was impossible when Yoongi was standing there, looking effortlessly handsome in his basketball jersey.
"I just wanted to get a lucky sight of my cute boyfriend before my final game," Yoongi said, his voice low and warm, making Jimin melt.
A smile broke across Jimin's face, and he felt his heart flutter at the familiar words. "You're going to get us both killed one day."
Yoongi chuckled, a sound that filled Jimin with warmth. "Meet me at the main gate after school for coffee?"
Before Jimin could respond, Yoongi leaned in closer, blowing him a playful kiss before revving the engine and riding off. Jimin stood there, a blushing mess, trying to collect himself as he watched Yoongi disappear down the street. He was the only one who knew how much love and laughter could hide behind the cool exterior of the basketball captain.
Classes dragged on, and Jimin found it hard to concentrate. Every glance from his classmates reminded him of his family dynamics, and his thoughts kept drifting back to Mina. He wondered if she had any idea about how much she had disrupted his life.
Finally, the school day ended, and Jimin rushed to the main gate, his heart racing with anticipation. Yoongi was already waiting, leaning casually against his bike, looking every bit the charming boyfriend Jimin had fallen for.
Jimin donned his cute little chick-stickered helmet, the one that had once made him whine like a child when Yoongi had offered it to him on their first date. Now, he wore it with pride, a fond reminder of their journey together.
"You look adorable," Yoongi said, grinning as he hopped off his bike and took Jimin's hand. "Ready for some coffee?"
The coffee shop they arrived at was cozy, filled with the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sweet pastries. Jimin chose a small table in the corner, where they could enjoy some privacy. Yoongi ordered their usuals, a caramel macchiato for Jimin and a black coffee for himself.
As they settled into their seats, Jimin's thoughts drifted back to Mina. "I don't know what to do about her, Yoongi. My family seems to be treating her like she's the golden child. It just hurts, you know?"
Yoongi nodded, understanding glimmering in his eyes. "You're not invisible to me, Jimin. Don't let them make you feel like you don't matter. You're worth so much more."
Jimin felt his heart swell at Yoongi's words, but he also felt a wave of emotion crashing over him. He took a deep breath, feeling the tears threatening to spill.
Noticing Jimin's change in demeanor, Yoongi reached across the table and took his hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles over Jimin's skin. "Hey, if it helps, I can always give you a really long kiss right now."
Jimin laughed through his tears, feeling lighter already. "I wouldn't mind that at all."
Without hesitation, Yoongi leaned across the table, capturing Jimin's lips in a tender kiss that lingered longer than intended. Jimin melted into it, feeling warmth spread through him, chasing away the shadows of his worries.
When they pulled away, both were breathless, and Jimin couldn't help but smile. "You always know how to cheer me up."
As the afternoon wore on, Yoongi dropped Jimin off a little distance from the main gate to avoid any prying eyes. He leaned in for a quick goodbye kiss, and Jimin's heart raced with excitement. Just as their lips met,
When they finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, smiles plastered across their faces. "See you tomorrow?" Yoongi asked, his voice low and playful.
"Definitely," Jimin replied, his heart soaring
