I felt him drop me lightly onto his luxuriously soft bed. I winced as my ankle hit the blanket, Jackson looked at me apologetically before lying beside me.
"Shouldn't you be welcoming your esteemed guests" I said looked across to him. He sighed and turned to look at me directly in the eyes.
"They all piss me off, I feel like half of them are plotting my death while the other half are desperately seeking my attention. Don't even get me started on all the princesses my dad forces upon me." He groaned "I much prefer spending time with you." He winked. I blushed and looked away but he lightly moved my face back to see his irresistibly handsome face. A strand of hair fell across my face and he moved it behind my ear. "Your so beautiful you know that." He said quietly in his seductive voice. I felt our face edge closer and closer when suddenly Audric walked grandly through the door. Upon seeing his father Jackson sprung up and quickly moved his face away from mine. Audric raised his eyebrows when he saw me lying on his bed.
"She has hurt her ankle father, it's not what it looks like." Jackson said, Audric just shook his head before he held out his arms and said.
"I would like to introduce you to Princess Clarice of Opalita." As he said this a beautiful elegant girl stepped into Jackson's room. She had long flowing blonde hair, pale skin, showing she hadn't worked a day in her life, and stark blue eyes that seemed to entrance any man she laid eyes on. Jackson gave her the once over before he walked over and kissed her hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Jackson."

Audric had 'suggested' that it would be a good idea for Jackson to give Clarice a tour of the castle. Once they had left the room Audric came up to me.
"Ignore Clarice, she isn't a good enough match for my son, she is just very beautiful and I thought that would distract him. Now I actually came here to talk to you." I frowned, what did the king want from me.
"As you know it is the feast tonight and I have already organised for Jackson to escort Clarice." My heart dropped, was this the time when the king decided to put an end to our relationship.
"You are the prince's mistress, it's time for you to become of use. Now the reason I don't want you to accompany Jackson is because I need you to seduce King Henry." This was probably the worst conversation I could have with the king. The king saw my horrified expression and added "he is only a few years older than you. His father died only a few months ago and we were in the process of signing a treaty of some kind, but I don't know if Henry will want to sign it. I need you to persuade him to sign it and to place his loyalties in us, we need him on our side if we face another war, he has a huge amount of soldiers and weaponry that will come into good use. But first we need to make you desirable, hence why we must keep this conversation between ourselves. Jackson is extremely possessive over you and if he finds out..."
"Wasn't it his idea for me to become his mistress."
"I think Jackson overlooked this part of our deal and focused on the part where you stay in his bed." Audric chuckled. "You need to get him to trust us and make him go forth with our treaty. I don't know how you will do it but you seem to have a knack with kings and princes so I think you can handle it." I knew he was hinting that I may be trying to win Jackson over just for the money and power, the truth is I'm not trying and I never felt the need for riches.
"So you just want me to persuade this king to sign the treaty, but without sounding to obvious." I asked him.
"No Tania, I need you to make him think Lothelor is the greatest, strongest and richest place on earth, it's my job then to make him sign the treaty."
"Okay but I have no idea how I am going to do that." The king had me down as this great seductress but in reality I was about as seductive as a beetle.

Rachelle yanked the strings of my bodice tighter. I winced as I felt my lungs being squashed.
"Stop!" I managed to hiss out. "I can't wear this, I will faint or something if I have to." Rachelle looked at me confusedly as if I were the town's idiot.
"If you want to look stunning ma belle you have got to be prepared to make a sacrifice." Rachelle said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"That may be the case but I am still not going to wear this dress, if I am going to win over this king then I am going to have to be myself, he will know if I am being fake." I explained. Rachelle sighed and held her hands up dramatically in defeat before pulling out another dress. The dress was a deep rich blue which signified wealth with flecks of gold speckled across it. The dress was truly beautiful. Rachelle helped my get inside the mass of petticoats, she then applied a little makeup and left my hair fall naturally around my shoulders. I looked pretty but was it enough to seduce a king.

I stared at Clarice from behind a pillar. Her luscious blonde hair flowed down her back flawlessly. The lilac dress which she wore made her skin gleam like pearls and she looked as if God had created her to fit the definition of beauty and perfection. I watched as Jackson linked his arm around hers and they both smiled at one and other. I gulped, I guess he has chose her, she is prettier, richer, more powerful and in every way better than me, it really is no surprise. The king wanted me to make an entrance, to make me seem important and wanted. By showcasing me at first would, hopefully, make the men see me as desirable. I waited for Jackson and Clarice to enter together and heart dropped when I heard the guests cheer as they set foot together into the great hall. I stepped slowly nearer to the wooden door that I and stood outside many times. I needed to do this for neither the king nor the prince but for the people of Lothelor because it was them who would get hurt if we had another war and them who would suffer if this treaty wasn't signed. Even though I have hardly met any of the villagers or anyone who doesn't work at the castle I still feel like since I have the opportunity to make a difference I should do. You are probably thinking is it good idea to seduce kings to achieve this, but I believe that if it works then why not.
