"Do you think we should send a message to your father?" I asked Jackson but he shook his head.
"No, that will just cause a war and that's exactly what your father wants." He replied. I looked across to Lydiea who seemed absorbed in thought.
"What should we do then, we have no chance of getting out of here and even if we do then my father will just bring his army to Lothelor."
"That is correct, I would do that and kill every person inside it." A voice behind me snarled cruelly. I shrieked in shock as I heard his voice, how come he always managed to creep up unnoticed behind people.
"You two are causing quite a problem to me, I hope you know that." He said rolling his eyes dramatically.
"You lied to me." I cried accusingly, then again I expected nothing less from him.
"You could say that yes, but then again when I have given you any reason to believe that I would ever tell you the truth? I thought I would be able to subdue you in sorrow before the time came when I would kill you." He said as if it was the most reasonable thing in the world.
"You can't do anything to us now." I said boldly despite knowing he could have us killed with a flick of his head. Confirming this he laughed loudly in his low booming voice.
"You are such a naive child," he chuckled "however, before you bid your farewells to this world I am holding a feast in my favourite couples honour." His dark eyes lit up at this.
"I'm not going to let you put Tania on display like an object to be ridiculed." Jackson said protectively.
My father raised his hands as if in defeat "Fine then your call, guards kill them both." He shouted loudly outside the door. I placed my hand reassuringly on Jackson's and looked deep into his eyes.
"We'll attend the feast." I unwillingly agreed.

I knew that this would be our only and final chance of surviving.

I rummaged around the wardrobe that contained the few dresses that I had randomly selected before coming to Nagoria. I wanted to look good, if this was to be the last night of my life. Having selected a long flowing jade green dress I sought for the diamond necklace that was the only item that I had left of my mothers, since my father burnt everything of hers once she died. I found it beneath a stack of drawings I had made when I was four and tied the necklace around my neck. I put on my dress and walked over to the mirror. With every movement the dress seemed to glimmer with a silvery hue in the folds as I walked. The emeralds that were encrusted along the top sparkled majestically. I tied half my hair up in intricate plaits before putting a bit of blusher and lip rouge on. I walked over to the huge balcony and just gazed over the glowing orange lights of Nagoria. It looked so beautiful from far away but i knew that the majority of the people were starving, cold and penniless. I couldn't let my father continue his brutal ruling of this kingdom, he had to be stopped, but there was no way that I could do it. There was no between us, he had never been a father to me, not even a friend. He was my only enemy in this world. Some people probably think it's psychotic to hate your father but put yourself in my shoes, wouldn't you hate the man who locked you up in a tower for the majority of your life and tried to kill you countless times?

I couldn't think of anything to stop him. I didn't care if I died if it made the people of the world better off. Then again one of his cruel advisors would probably step into power and I wouldn't have made any difference. I was completely absorbed in thought that I didn't notice someone walk behind me and wrap their arms around my waist. He spun me around and drew me in tightly to him. His stark blue eyes gazed down at me. He took my hand in his. His hair gleamed in the darkness and his skin glowed against the dim torch light around the balcony. His eyes looked intently into mine and intwined his fingers with mine.
"If I die tonight, I don't want to have any regrets. A regret of something I have longed to do since I first set eyes on you." He said drawing me even tighter to him. "I love you Tania, so much and I will never forgive myself if I don't show you how much." His eyes blazed with love and lust and I couldn't help but fall into it as well.
