The king's face was priceless, but I couldn't help but feel bad for him as Jackson yanked him off me. I could feel Jackson glowering at me as I looked away from him. I couldn't tell him my motives as to why I was kissing Henry as it would blow my cover.
"What are you doing with her Henry?" Jackson yelled. Henry raised his hands up and looked between Jackson and I to see whether something was going on between us.
"Sorry mate I didn't realise you had rights over her." Henry said frowning
"He doesn't." I said sharply.
"I do." Jackson replied smirking
"No you don't, I don't need your permission Jackson. It's alright for you to go off with some blonde princess but it's not alright for me to?"
"Nothing happened between Clarice and me." Jackson said.
"I'm not your property Jackson."
"I know but I hate seeing you with other men."
"Well that's your problem to sort out not mine." We glared at each other before Henry said.
"Right I think that's my call to leave, I'll see you around Tania." He winked at me and I gave him my best seductive smile. Jackson turned as he was about to punch Henry but I pulled him into me to stop him from beating up the king who I was trying to win over.
"I knew these little domestics of ours turned you on." He said after I pulled him close so that our bodies were touching. I rolled my eyes and pushed him away from me.
"Thanks for that." I said sarcastically as I sat down on a window seat.
"Your welcome, that guys a prat." Jackson said not getting the hint with my sarcasm.
"I'm just doing what your father said, and actually he is a nice guy."
"What! And no he just wants to have sex with you."
"And you don't."
"Trust me honey of that was all I wanted you for we would have done the deed along time ago." He smirked. "And why is my dad involved?"
"I'm your mistress remember." I said
"And what has that got to do with it..." Jackson said slowly as if he was hesitant to get the answer.
"Your father wants Henry to sign this treaty but doesn't think he will. So he wants me to seduce him to make his see Lothelor as this amazing and powerful place so he will put his trust in us."
"And what if I don't want you to 'seduce' him as you say."
"Well your the one who wanted me as your mistress and hence why I kept it a secret from you."
"Yes I wanted you as my mistress not Henry's."
"Look Jackson it's nothing personal between Henry and I and as you said he just wants to have sex with me, which is fine because then he is more likely to come back here and hopefully sign the treaty."
"But I don't want him to do that to you." He turned me so I was facing him, he gazed into my eyes as if he was searching for something. His posture looked concerned and protective. "If you do this then every other man in the court will treat you as some booty call. I know you think you are doing this for the best of the kingdom but there are other means to get his support. The easiest is for me just to ask him but Audric is afraid of damaging his pride and instead wouldn't mind damaging yours. My father has probably got into your head, like he does with many. By being my mistress I don't expect you to sleep with other men, my father was just testing how far you would go, and I now know that you would do anything it takes to help this Kingdom, god knows why but you do. I wanted you to be my mistress so I could confide in you and give you more status than just a serving girl." Jackson ran his hands through his hair repeatedly as he said this, ruffling his golden blonde hair. I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder. What he said made sense, I didn't think seducing Henry was the answer and I kept on reassuring myself that it was for the better of the kingdom, but I guess it's not the only solution. Jackson pulled me closer to him and whispered in my ear.
"I'm taking you out tomorrow."*
"Rise and shine." I head a voice cry from near my bed. The man opened my curtains, letting in streams of golden light that forced my eyes open. I squinted to see a man walking impatiently around my room.
"If you don't get up in the next five seconds I'm going to have to take measures into my own hands." The man said. I ignored the threat and shut my eyes as the man began to count down from five.
"Don't say I didn't warn you." He said as I felt myself being lifted off my bed and thrown over his shoulder. The sudden use of force awoke me and as I was being carried downstairs I could see and hear the hysterical laughter of Jimmy and George upside down. The man, whom I now recognised as Jackson, reached outside of the stable and threw me off his shoulder. I felt for a few moments of absolute horror that I was going to land, and most likely die, on the cobbled stone ground. Sure enough though Jackson caught me in his arms. He grinned at me mischievously, I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You are extremely hard to wake up." He grinned
"You are extremely impatient." I retorted smiling.
"Hurry up and get dressed or do I have to force you to do that to, not that I would mind or anything." He smirked and I pushed him off me before running back inside the stable to get dressed. I chose a simple pale pink dress witch a white bodice. As I walked out I heard Jimmy yell amongst his hysterics
"'Ave fun on ya date." I rolled my eyes and walked out of the door. I looked outside and couldn't see Jackson. I turned and shut the door behind me only to feel a pair of hands wrap around my waist. I let out a small shriek as Jackson lifted me up and carried me over to his horse. He then lifted me on to the back of the stallion before he climbed in front of me.
"Are you still not trusting me with my own horse because I am pretty sure I am a better horse rider than you are." I said
"Is that so? I want you on my horse otherwise I would be worrying that you were gonna get bucked off."
"You have so little faith in me your highness."
"You know I hate it when you call me that."
"All the more reason to say it then your majesty." I grinned. I began to notice several knights leap onto their horses.
"Are they coming too?" I asked Jackson.
"Yes, the woods, where we are going are dangerous at the moment. They are full of bandits and armed thieves. If they attack I want to make sure you won't get hurt." He said as he kicked the horse into action.
"Why are we going there?"
"You'll see and don't worry they will give us our space." The horse began galloping away from the castle and toward the woods. I wrapped my arms around Jackson, I didn't like relying on someone but it felt nice to finally have someone who wants to protect you.
