Jules and Avery

The next morning, I stretch up a little, cracking my knuckles. For once, I slept well! Putting on my uniform for my last day at school for the week, I wait up for Avery to prepare herself.

Get up, sleepy head! I shout at her from downstairs

Five more minutes! She mumbles sheepishly

I sigh and get back upstairs.

We're going to go see Jules! I affirm

Suddenly, she raises her head and grabs her uniform for the day, going to the bathroom. "Why is she so happy with the thought of seeing Jules?" I think with suspicion, waiting for her to change herself.

Adjusting my tie, Avery follows me to the kitchen, as we salute my family, eating breakfast.

You okay, Avery? I ask between two bites of pancakes

Yeah, I'm fine. The couch is too comfy.... she responds, brushing her hair back as she keeps eating

I chuckle and facepalm, ending my pancake by the time of saying "Booh" ... Brushing my teet, I claim:

Come on, we're going to be late for school!

Avery groans and brushes her teeth as well...Quickly, we head to school, me walking and her trying to walk.

Nuh-uh, let me correct that. I try to help her walk when she's the one saying she's "too tired." Yeah right, she slept in for about 10 hours yesterday!

Where is that dumb boyfriend of yours? Mumbles Avery, yawning elegantly as she tries to follow my pace

Right there in front of you. I retort teasingly, pointing to in front of me

At the same time, Jules comes over, a dumb smile crossing from one eye to the other. Gosh, he looks like a maniac, but he's in love...

It's not my fault, I guess...

Hey Nora! Hey Avery! How are you girls doing? He asks, looking at both of us

I guess I'm doing well, thank you very much. I respond, glancing at Avery

Avery is staring at Jules, her eyes narrowing with mixed emotions. Hatred? Disgust? Surprise? I can't tell.

You much be Jules. Avery crosses her arms over her chest suspiciously

Jules nods and looks at her, surely confused by her cold behavior. Obviously, I'm the only one knowing what's in her mind.

You know Ann-Marie, right? She asks, staring at him with intensity and hatred

Yeah, she used to be my girlfriend, but she forced me in that relationship (Jules pauses) Which isn't especially nice, let's say, but now, I have Nora.

Jules smiles and looks at me, as Avery narrows her eyes once again, trying to seek the bad guy into him. She won't find him; I just know it!

And you're not supporting her but Nora, right?

Yep, supporting Nora, not some sort of wannabe Powerpuff girl, toxic girlfriend! Laughs Jules, smiling

Suddenly, Avery's expression lights up and she nods.

Well, welcome to my friend zone. Claims Avery
