The weird proposal

As Avery and Jules are talking about everything possible, from aliens to Taylor Swift, I call out to them.

Come on, history class is starting! I announce

Both follow me through the class, Avery on my left and Jules on my right. They get along well, but I don't think there's anything between them. Nope on a rope.

So, let's take the attendances...starts the teacher in front of the class

Everybody remains silent, waiting for the teacher to name students. He replaces his grey glasses with the bridge of his nose and grabs the paper with the names.

Avery Hawthorne? He asks

Avery raises her hand silently, the teacher nodding in approval.

Benjamin Carter? He stops when he sees the hand

Benedict Blanche?

Another raised up hand. I hate the fact that, in this school,they name the students in alphabetic order. Well, I can't complain...I lean back in my chair as class starts.

So, Rome, Rome, Rome! The people in Rome started invading other territories like Greece, Egypt, Gaule, and few other territories. Basically, there was one emperor for all those territories. But the barbarian people didn't agree, and that will help the empire end eventually. We'll talk about that in a few courses, the causes of Rome's end...

I let the teacher talk, knowing what he's saying. I don't get it...We learned all those Roe and Greece thing back in Secondary 1 at my school...At least, the exam is going to be easy!

Walking out of the class to head to the cafeteria, I hear a voice calling me out.

Nora, Avery! You girls should join the theater club, you girls are very expressive and everything, so why don't you try it?

Confused, I turn up to Avery then back to the teacher with a shrug. Theater club?

Avery? What do you think about the idea? I ask her, as Jules grabs my hand, us three walking to the cafeteria

She pauses and shrugs, grinning slyly.

Maybe we can try it. I mean, why not? We're nearly the end of November, so we could help the club prepare the Christmas show! She proposes

I pause, and so does Avery, and Jules...The theater club? Why not? I mean, I don't have to take the principal lead.

You girls should go ahead and register! I would imagine Nora as Rudolph, and Avery as the main Santa Claus!

We chuckle lightly, heading to the cafeteria...

I'll think about it...I promise to them with a smile

Of course we're going to join that dang club! Claims Avery excitedly, interrupting Jules

I shrug and follow Avery and Jules to the registering list, signing my name in the registering...
