"Hey, good girl, With your head in the clouds, I bet you I can tell you, what you're thinkin' about,"
A knock at the door came and Kate paused the video she was watching. She barely paid any mind to who was entering. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and a pencil was in between her lips. It was an old habit that she hadn't used in ages, now that she was working on researching again, it had been a habit that had returned.
"Come in," she called out, she didn't look up from her computer. At least until she could see Kit from the corner of her eye. Immediately she sat up straighter, the pencil falling from her lips. She closed her laptop a little, not wanting Kit to see what she'd been watching and she waved. "Hey,"
Kit raised her eyebrows at Kate's reaction. A small smile played on her face while she sat on the edge of Kate's bed. It had been about three days since Kate had returned from New York, they hadn't had time alone yet.
The Wranglers were a big reason for that. Since Kate got back, the team was all over trying to get her to join. She'd said she would think about it- which Kit pretty much knew was already a yes.
Now that they were alone, Kit had intended to take advantage of that. She let her grin widen while she sat down to look at Kate
"What are you up to? All locked away like Rapunzel." She tilted her head. Kate shook her head with a light laugh.
"Research, tryin' to figure out if taming will work again." Kit nodded.
"I mean I'm sure it will, maybe you just need a Dorothy to collect the information again." Sure, the Dorothy was an old device. Tyler's team had a lot of new technology to work with, but Dorothy was consistent and reliable. If Kate wanted to check over the experiment again, it might help. "Doesn't help that we lost a few days because Tyler got his truck towed. I mean come on, what idiot drills themself into the ground at the airport," she rolled her eyes.
Kate let out a small laugh, then she thought back to Kit's Dorothy recommendation and made a face before shrugging. It wasn't so much that she didn't want to use Dorothy, more so that getting access to one wouldn't be as easy as last time. She went to close her laptop, deciding to change the subject but accidentally pressed play on the video.
"You'll see a good boy Gonna give you the world But he's gonna leave you cryin' With your heart in the di-"
Her eyes widened and she tried to pause it again, her face turning red while Kit looked surprised. She reached forward and grabbed the computer. Kate tried to stop her but she was too late because Kit opened it.
