Yeosang glanced around, wondering where his driver had gone. Normally, the car would be parked right outside the store, waiting for him. But today, the street was empty.
It had been about 20 minutes since his shift ended, and still, no sign of the driver. It wasn't rush hour, so traffic couldn't be the issue, and the driver shouldn't have been on another job—Jongho had specifically assigned him to Yeosang.
With a shrug, Yeosang decided to walk home. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket, humming a tune that had been stuck in his head all day. Winter was almost over, and the chilly air didn't bother him. Maybe a walk was what he needed—some time alone to clear his mind and sort things out.
Jongho and Yeosang hadn't really talked about their relationship yet. Yeosang knew he needed to give it serious thought before diving in. Was it too soon? He had just gotten out of an abusive relationship. Could rushing into something new with Jongho really be a good idea?
Sure, Jongho was nothing like Minwoo—better, without question. But was Yeosang truly ready to start over? He felt safe with Jongho, and every time they kissed, it was like he was soaring. Still, it might be too early to make any decisions. Minwoo had been an addict, and Jongho—well, Jongho was literally a criminal.
Yeosang scoffed to himself. His taste in men was impeccable, it seemed.
The song he had been humming continued to play in his mind as he walked further. It felt nice to be out alone like this, something he hadn't done in a long time. Then his phone buzzed in his pocket, pulling him from his thoughts. Probably Wooyoung.
Raising an eyebrow, Yeosang slowed to a stop and checked the screen. His heart skipped a beat—he hadn't been expecting his name.
Jongho.
Jongho (<3 ?): Don't go near the alley we met.
Jongho (<3 ?): Don't move
Jongho (<3 ?): Wait for me i'm coming in a sec

In an instant, Yeosang was filled with confusion. What was Jongho talking about? What did he even mean? Why shouldn't he go there? It didn't make sense—especially considering it was the same place they had first run into each other after the shop, and on the way back to the mansion anyway.
Yeosang stared at his phone, unsure why Jongho had suddenly sent him a message like that. It was especially strange since this was the first time they had ever texted each other. What could possibly be going on?
Yeosang: what
"Oh, look who we have here," a voice sneered.
Yeosang froze mid-message, glancing up. Three men stood before him, their appearances straight out of a gangster movie—tall, bulky, with faces marred by scars, piercings, and tattoos. They exuded menace. But it wasn't just their rough exterior that unsettled him. The man in the middle—there was something eerily familiar about him.
The taller man smirked, staring at Yeosang with a scoff. That's when it clicked. Yeosang's breath caught in his throat.
Minjae. Minwoo's older brother.
