BREAKING NEWS: Three people reported missing in Seoul...
NEWS: Missing persons cases rise in Seoul, marking the 17th case this month...
Yeosang shook his head, scrolling mindlessly through social media. Maybe doomscrolling so early in the morning wasn't the best way to start the day, but what else was there to do when sleep just wouldn't come?
Wooyoung was working the night shift, and Yeosang knew better than to bother him while he was still on the clock. As for Jongho, he hadn't been home all day yesterday, which only added to Yeosang's growing sense of unease. He bit his lip, tossing his phone onto the bed and rubbing his face with both hands. His mind was a mess, and sleep felt impossible.
Was this what Jongho meant by "You'll understand soon enough"? The thought made Yeosang's stomach twist. Jongho wouldn't actually kill anyone, right? He could only hope.
The very idea of living with someone who might be capable of such violence was enough to make his skin crawl. But then, there was the kiss...
Oh god, the kiss.
Yeosang's face flushed, heat spreading across his skin as the memory of the kiss played over and over in his mind. He could still feel the press of Jongho's lips against his, the warmth, the intensity. His heart raced, and he bit his lip, trying to suppress the way his body reacted just thinking about it. What had that kiss even meant? And what was he supposed to do now?
A shiver ran through him as he replayed the moment, every detail sharp in his mind. Ever since it happened, his thoughts had been tangled in a mix of confusion and something more. The kiss itself hadn't lasted long—just a few seconds, maybe minutes—but it felt like time had slowed to a crawl, every second stretching into something deeper. The way Jongho had kissed him... it was so confident, so controlled, and Yeosang couldn't shake the way it made his body respond. His breath hitched as he thought about it, and he shifted uncomfortably, trying to ignore the warm flutter in his chest.
Jongho had been so good at it, leaving Yeosang more confused and stirred up than ever. Was it just a fleeting, spur of the moment type thing? Or was there something more simmering between them? The thought sent another wave of warmth through him, making it impossible to ignore the pull of attraction, even as his mind spun with uncertainty.
This is so confusing! He's been on my mind nonstop, and I haven't even asked him about it!
Frustration bubbled up inside him as he cursed himself for being too much of a coward to talk to Jongho directly. He let out a long sigh. Maybe today would be different. If Jongho was home, Yeosang could finally confront him. He had been busy lately, hardly ever coming home on time, but Yeosang knew he couldn't keep avoiding this conversation forever.
He shouldn't be this worried about Jongho, yet he was. And he didn't even know why. Everything was so muddled in his head, and the only person who could make sense of it all was Jongho.
Yeosang started down the stairs, hoping someone might be around to tell him if Jongho was home. Coward, he thought. Can't even check for yourself.
He froze midway when he heard faint whispers. Pressing himself against the wall to stay out of sight, he strained to listen.
"Hey, stop that. Someone might walk in," a voice giggled.
