The mention of Minwoo sent a shiver down Yeosang's spine, his muscles tensing involuntarily at the memory of their tumultuous relationship. Why was Jongho bringing him up? Did he know something about Minwoo that Yeosang didn't?
"W-what about him?" Yeosang's voice wavered, his apprehension palpable as he waited for Jongho's response.
Jongho's gaze remained steady, his expression unreadable as he posed his next question. "Is he a friend of yours?"
Yeosang hesitated, uncertainty flickering in his eyes as he grappled with how to respond. Slowly, he shook his head, his gaze fixed on Jongho as if searching for answers within his enigmatic demeanour.
"A boyfriend, perhaps?" Jongho's tone softened, his words carrying a subtle suggestion that made Yeosang's pulse quicken.
Despite the casual nature of Jongho's inquiry, Yeosang couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over him like a heavy blanket. It was as if Jongho's probing questions were peeling back layers of his past, exposing vulnerabilities he had long sought to conceal.
"Why are you asking me?" Yeosang's tone held a touch of defiance this time, his eyes narrowing slightly as he awaited Jongho's response.
Jongho reclined in his chair, the lines of his face softened by the dim light filtering through the window. Despite his composed demeanour, there was a hint of something else beneath the surface, something that Yeosang couldn't quite decipher.
"So I am right, he is your boyfriend." Jongho's words held a quiet assurance, his voice tinged with a hint of certainty, yet his expression remained as inscrutable as ever.
"What about him?" Yeosang's voice was tinged with frustration, the mere mention of Minwoo stirring up a whirlwind of emotions within him.
Jongho let out a thoughtful hum, gesturing subtly towards Yeosang's face. "He did that, right?"
Yeosang felt a surge of anger rising within him, his fists clenched tightly at his sides as he struggled to contain his frustration. The memory of Minwoo's violence threatened to overwhelm him, fueling the flames of his indignation.
The audacity of this guy to delve into his personal affairs with Minwoo was beyond infuriating. Who was he to pry into Yeosang's life like this?
Jongho's disdainful click of the tongue grated on Yeosang's nerves. "Fucking asshole. I knew it."
Yeosang's confusion deepened. "Knew what?"
"I knew he was an asshole," Jongho continued, his voice dripping with contempt. "He just looked too selfish to me."
Yeosang's mind raced with questions. How did Jongho know Minwoo, and why was he here now, dredging up painful memories?
"How do you know Minwoo?" Yeosang demanded, his tone laced with suspicion.
Jongho raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "Seems like your little boyfriend didn't tell you about the things he was getting himself into. What a nice relationship you guys have," he added with biting sarcasm.
Yeosang simmered with frustration. Jongho had no business poking his nose into Yeosang's relationship, no matter how accurate his observations might be.
"What did Minwoo want from you?" Yeosang asked, his voice tight with irritation.
Jongho took a leisurely sip of his coffee before answering. "He borrowed a significant amount of money from me a few months back. Said it was for his father's medical expenses."
Yeosang's mind whirled as he processed the revelation. "But... Minwoo's father passed away," he muttered, connecting the dots.
"Exactly," Jongho confirmed with a grim nod.
