"This clown is yanking me around like I'm his personal luggage. 'Seriously, can you chill? I already said I don't want to see this!' I groaned, wondering if I had a sign on my forehead that said 'drag me everywhere for no reason."

"Can't you just appreciate the beauty of nature? Look how stunning this fountain is," he said, gesturing dramatically toward the fountain right in front of us.

"Yeah, it's gorgeous. You know what would make it even better? You standing in front of it. I'll take a picture so I can always remember this... magical moment," I said, all while plotting like a mastermind.

He grinned like I'd just handed him a modeling contract, striking a ridiculous pose with his arms flexed, ready for his big moment. I acted like a supportive friend, hyping him up while secretly recording. Then, with the precision of a ninja, I lifted my leg and kicked him straight into the fountain.

Splash! He tumbled in, drenched from head to toe. I flipped my hair with a victorious smirk. "See? I told you to leave me alone. Now look at you-soaked and stylish!" I said sassily as he groaned in defeat, looking like a wet cat.

I heard a burst of laughter and turned toward the sound. There was Lucas, repeatedly throwing himself at the window and laughing so hard it made the whole situation even more ridiculous and hilarious!

I couldn’t help but laugh along with Lucas, but before I knew it, Benjamin playfully pulled me into the fountain with him, soaking me instantly. I landed on top of him, and as our eyes met, my laughter faded, replaced by a surprised gaze and an undeniable sense of stillness in the moment, unable to move as I took in the closeness between us.

We stared into each other’s eyes for what felt like an eternity, lost in the moment. Then, Benjamin slowly leaned in, his face drawing closer, his breath warm against my skin. "May I?" he whispered softly, his voice sending shivers through me. It was only then that I snapped back to reality, my heart racing in anticipation of what was to come.

I scooped up a handful of water and  splashed it across his face before standing and stepping out of the fountain. Without hesitation, I extended my arm, palm facing inward, and promptly transported myself back to my house.

I sat on my bed as a flood of questions raced through my mind. "Why did I stare at him for so long? Why didn’t I push him away when he leaned in? What was I thinking?" Frustration welled up inside me, and I let out a scream, unable to find any answers to calm the storm in my head.

I lay on my bed, turning off the lights and hoping to find peace in a nap to quiet my racing thoughts. As I closed my eyes, images of him flooded my mind the way his face lit up when I fell on top of him, the intensity of his gaze as he leaned in, the warmth in his eyes that seemed to see right through me. Each moment played out like a romantic movie, leaving my heart fluttering and my mind restless.

I opened my eyes and sat up, running my hands through my hair as I tried to shake off the confusion. I had no idea what this feeling was, both sweet and torturous at the same time.

At that moment, I heard a notification alert and grabbed my phone. Upon opening it, I noticed a message from an unknown number: "Meet me at Bookend Café at 4 PM tomorrow." After reading the text, I found myself confused about who it could be from.

“Who are you?” I shot back to the unknown number, curious about the mystery. To my surprise, the response came through: “Benjamin Sawyer 😅.” A smile sneaked onto my face before I quickly wiped it away, trying to regain my usual poker face. It was like my emotions were playing a game of hide and seek!
