Angels under the Ground - Part 2

"Well, I can sense him nowhere around the corridors", Lucifer said after opening his eyes again. The group had followed Satan down to the tomb level to continue the search for the missing angel. Luke wasn't anywhere in the labyrinth, meaning he could only be in the tomb itself. "Wasn't Cerberus guarding the tomb?", Levi asked, crouching behind Ryu and flinching at every little sound. Ruth shook her head. "He's doing a nap right now. I fed him earlier so now he needs to digest it." "What did you feed him?", Lucifer questioned. "I fetched five deers from this one butcher down town. Barbs helped me carry them." Lucifer nodded approvingly while the others cringed at the thought. "Did he tear them apart or did you give him just raw meat pieces?", Satan asked, already regretting the question because Ruth shook her head and laughed. "No way! Where would be the fun with that? They were obviously still alive and just paralyzed when we brought them here. Barb helped me set up some barriers so that they wouldn't be able to escape and then we let Cerbi have his fun playing with his prey." The others visibly paled at that while Vanja let out a laugh. "I sometimes forget how cruel you can be, sis." "That goes right back to you, sissy", Ruth grinned and Lucifer let out a chuckle. "I'll keep in mind to let you feed him on a regular. I would appreciate the help." "Sure!", Ruth grinned. "He's a good boy. I like playing with him." "Good." Lucifer's lips formed a small but evident smile.
"Alright then." Ryu interrupted. "You guys can flirt somewhere else but now we have to go to the tomb. I don't want to imagine what Luke is doing there." "We weren't flirting!", both, Ruth and Lucifer firmly said but on both faces was an undeniable blush. "Sure, Luci, Ruthi." Ryu grinned. "I'm sure you weren't." Laughing, Vee hugged her friend and Satan elbowed his older brother. "You'll have to admit it soon, big brother", he murmured, then ruffled Anna's head and walked ahead of the oldest brother who grumbled, still slightly blushing, and followed.
"Luke?" Anna called into the gigantic room as the sound bounced of the walls and the echo filled the silence. "Huh?!" A surprised echo bounced back and the small angel shuffled into the light. "How did you find me? I was so lost." Luke sighed in relief at the sight of everyone, visibly relaxing. "What did you think wondering off like that?", Simeon scolded his junior. Luke held his head low. "I'm sorry, Simeon..." The superior angel shook his head. "As much as you should apologize to me, Luke", Simeon pierced him with his gaze, "You should apologize to them." His finger pointed directly at the mixed group of demons and humans, demanding to follow his order. Luke looked like he would burst into tears as he turned around and bowed deeply. "I'm truely sorry that I wandered off on my own, didn't inform anyone on where I was going and have gotten lost in the process. I thank you very much that you searched for me. I will make it even to you, just tell me what I can do for that."
"You better be", Mammon mumbled which - "Ow!" - earned him an elbow in his rips from Ryu. "What were you even doing down here?", Satan wondered. Luke lifted his head and sniffed. "I found this book and wanted to know what was in it." He pulled out a book that shouldn't be able to fit in his pocket at all but strangely it did. At the sight of the book however, the demons' aura became menacing. "Luke, please give us the book", Asmo said sternly. "Huh, why?" Luke looked confused. "Just... give it back, angel. You don't know what you have there." Lucifer tried to hide it but it was obvious, he was angry as he gritted his teeth. "It's just a book! What harm could it possibly do?" Luke defensively took a step back. Out of nowhere, Vanja just stepped forward, having been standing relatively close, and snatched the book away. With an offended "Hey!" from Luke, she skipped towards Lucifer, looked up at him and gave the book to Ruth. Lucifer looked at her with a disapproving are-you-serious-face to which Vee painly grinned. "I know I'm suicidal but I don't wanna be killed by you." Then she grinned for real. "Always remember that I am the bestie, sister and soulsister of your sweetheart. You can't kill me or it might lower your chances drastically." She looked at Ruth for approval who shrugged and nodded. Lucifer sighed in defeat as Vanja laughed maniacally.
"Luke, this is a grimoire", Ruth explained then. "It is a tool to make a demon, who's soul is represented in it, obey to the human in use of the grimoire. It is a sign for slavery to any demon." "Oh..." Luke said. "And that's not all." Ruth pointed to the other side of the room. "The place you took the grimoire from is a sacred place for this house. Do you know just where you got it from?" Luke shook his head but looked in the direction of the tomb. "It's a grave, Luke." The little angel gasped. "So, as that has been said, please apologize to the brothers." Ruth handed Lucifer the grimoire but kept her gaze expectantly on the little angel. Tears crept up in Luke's eyes and he bowed deeply. "I'm so sorry!", he apologized, "I didn't know!" Now turning to Lucifer and the rest of the brothers, the humans crossed their arms in expectancy. Mammon grumbled. "I guess, the great Mammon could forgive ya...", he said. "It's alright, little chihuahua!", Asmo chimed in cheerfully. He didn't seem to get that "chihuahua" was actually a bad nickname but whatever. The rest of the brothers said something similar like Mammon and Asmo, although Satan kept quiet. Lastly, Lucifer spoke up. His anger seemed subsided to a low point as he said. "Angel, as you were unaware of the circumstances and because I was asked to act thoughtfully, I perceive, you can pay the respect back by firstly sowing to the grave and then helping the human exchange students with their dayly chores, especially cooking. I have heard from Micheal during one of our decadent meetings that he has a new angel in his roses who can cook greatly and create tasty sweets. As I presume that he meant you, I will be testing that claim of his. Are you alright with that?" Luke looked up, surprised by the demon's offer so that Simeon had to interrupt. "Yes, he is very okay with that. Isn't that right, Luke?" Simeon smiled at his junior. Luke, respectively, nodded his head viciously, wiping his tears. "Yes sir, thank you for your kindness."
