Entering the House of Lamentation had nothing of coming home. Mare thought it resembled more of a feeling one felt when entering a hotel. That feeling was nowhere near the entire comfort and relaxation. Right now it just didn't feel right to be here. To walk around a home of someone else you barely know or never really met. Mare sighed. She was never comfortable the minute she was dragged out of her surroundings. That should apply to any human being or just generally any life that existed. No one could instantly integrate themselves into a completely different world without trying. And dispute this, her friends seemed way too carefree to actually oblige to this silent rule. Anna was more like herself at this point (conscious and feeling uncomfortable) but she quickly found some comfort and a safety bubble to go to; Ryu being her bubbly self didn't seem anyhow affected and just ran around the House and the RAD as if nothing happened and she just archived a great new terrain to discover and Ruth, too, didn't seem affected. Not that she would show it anyways but there was no discomfort in her body language as if she just accepted the situation and dealt with it. It was enviable.
"Mare." Ruth calling her name snapped her out of her thoughts. "Huh?" Ruth smiled at her. "Lucifer said that Barbatos mentioned your excellent behavior in his substitutional lesson earlier. He wants to tutor you in that class if you want to." Lucifer arched an eyebrow which made Mare's self consciousness strike again but Ruth ignored him completely, dividing her full attention which caused a comfortable heat to rise in her chest. "He was a good substitute and I quickly got the gist so I would like to accept." She kept her gaze low to avoid the Avatar's eyes. It made her uncomfortable even with her friends by her side. "Great." Ruth clapped her hands. "Then I am going to message him immediately. I haven't texted him via bone bird in so long!" Obviously feeling nostalgic, Ruth tucked her arm into her's and dragged her towards the steps. "Where do you think you're going?" Lucifer stopped them. "I wanted to go to the attic to let the bird fly, sir. They prefer to start from higher places", Ruth explained but Lucifer wasn't fond of that idea. "I would appreciate it if you didn't come near the attic at all. It is my personal room and I would like to keep it that way. Meaning: You are forbidden to enter it. Do I make myself clear?" Mare gulped and Ruth's face hardened. "Of course, sir. I will find another option." Lucifer nodded in approval and Ruth and Mare continued climbing the stairs but Ruth turned around again. "What would you recommend for this, sir?" Lucifer didn't even look at them but answered anyway. "I would recommend going outside. This house has no windows after all so it would be no use going into any room." "Understood."
Under her breath Ruth mumbled "Could've said that first when I mentioned letting the bird fly" but if Lucifer heard it, he didn't say anything."Hey, Ruthi..." Mare stopped in front of the house and let the Devildom moon shine on her. "Hmm?" Ruth stopped as well and turned around, turning concerned as she noticed her friend's slumped posture. "Uhm... Ich weiß jetzt nicht, wie ich das sagen soll, aber ich will nicht mehr hier sein..." She didn't dare to raise her head, scared of seeing a disappointed look on the other's face. Did she make her mad? What would she say? All those thoughts circled her head so she heard them all at once, making her close her eyes tightly. When she had enough courage to lift her head, she was met with a gentle but sad smile. "Du fühlst dich hier nicht wohl, oder? Es behagt dir nicht, dich hier unter Fremden aufzuhalten und zu tun, als wäre nichts. Das ist okay. Ich bin sicher, du hast dir den Kopf darüber zerbrochen, ob du das hier durchziehen sollst oder wie du es aufbringen sollst, richtig? Ich habe bemerkt, dass du mit deinen Gedanken immer woanders warst und ich wollte dich darauf ansprechen. Es ist alles okay." Hearing that, her eyes filled with tears. She was relieved that she didn't have to stay here. It was scary and it just wouldn't fit with her. She was so uncomfortable as if her soul decided to stay in the human world and leave her body suffering. "I don't have to stay?" she asked, still in doubt. "No, you don't. Instead of the confirmation for your extra lessons we will send a letter to Barbatos, explaining your discomfort and wish to go home. I'm sure he and Diavolo will understand." Ruth hugged her and led her towards the Planetarium. There, after writing a letter and sealing it with wax, Ruth whistled a complicated melody and a sparking ball of black appeared. It spread out wings and formed into a literal bird out of bones that had fire as its wings and tail. It chirped which sounded high pitched that Mare felt it in her mark and bone. Ruth held up the sealed paper roll so the bird could take it in his beak and then it flew off in the direction of the Demon Lord's Castle.
