Aurora

Part 13

The light of dawn woke her. That, and the small blue thing sat watching her from the foot of Kurt's old bed. She screamed, throwing a pillow at it before scrambling off of the bed. It teleported out of the way with ease, piquing her interest. The thing sat down again, looking at her as she edged towards it. Blue, furry, spaded tail, yellow eyes, a teleporter... 

"Kurt?" She whispered. 'My god Aurora, you're going insane.'

"Bamf" The creature replied, grinning up at her. She held her hand out to it and it took hold of her finger in one of it's three-digit hands. Laughing, she picked it up.

"Hello, bamf"

She jumped as it teleported up onto her shoulder unexpectedly, it's tail curling around her arm. Her stomach grumbled and she looked up at it; if he was anything like Kurt, he'd be hungry too. Being careful to not make any noise, she crept out of the room into the hallway, making her way back to her room to change. 

It took a while to force the bamf to stop looking at her so that she could get changed, but eventually she managed, after stuffing it into her cupboard and literally throwing the garments on before it realized that it could bamf its way back out. Climbing its way back up onto her shoulder, she sneaked down into the kitchen, grabbing a few cookies and handing one to the tiny creature on her shoulder, who practically swallowed it whole.

"Come on bamf, I'm taking you to the smartest man I know."

"I have to say, I have no idea what it is Aurora. Has it been violent in any way?"

She shook her head and stroked it's soft blue/black hair and it closed it's eyes, tipping its head into her hand.

"I just find it really weird that it looks like a miniature, more chubby version of Kurt..." It looked up at her with a moody expression and poked it's pudgy tummy.

Hank chuckled, "And it appears that he can understand us. Perhaps you're better off asking Xavier if you can keep him" 

She smiled and nodded, thanking him before leaving the lab to go and find the Professor. The bamf teleported back onto her shoulder and looked around curiously as they silently walked through the corridors and hallways, it was like it'd never seen a building before. 'I wonder where it came from...' 

She pondered the question as she knocked on the door before pushing it open and poking her head around.

"Professor... I found something..." As soon as she stepped into the room, his eyes widened.

"What in the heavens is that creature?" He asked, moving his head so that he could get a better look. He sounded fascinated rather than repulsed which set her mind at ease, so she stepped forwards, taking a seat. 

"From what it told me, it's a bamf"

"Bamf" The creature repeated, grinning. 

Xavier sat back in his seat and smiled, resting his head on one hand. "Remarkable, it looks almost like Kurt, but-"

"fuller" Aurora finished for him, "He's sensitive about certain things" She drew a circle in the air behind the bamf and Charles chuckled.

"I see... Do you know how he arrived here?"

She shook her head, "No, I woke up this morning and there it was, on the foot of the bed."

He nodded, taking it all in and thinking about the next step to take. Aurora didn't want him to say that she couldn't keep him; without knowing where he came from, there would be nothing that they could do except...
