Jace's POV:
@the classroom:
“That reminds me. Cam, can I borrow your notes? Or just give me some pointers.”, I asked.
“Hey, this is not some nerd joint.”, Chase teased.
“I know. My point of asking Cam directly.”, I said.
“Well, I can’t give you my notes, but I can share some pointers. Mostly, at tests like these, they give few of last semester topics, and things we have covered so far.”, Cameron said.
“Precisely why I need your notes. From this semester at least.”, I pleaded.
“Okay, I can’t give you my notes, but let’s do one thing. Do you have your phone?”, he asked.
“Yes, always.”, I said with an expecting eye.
“Then I’ll send you the pics… or you can take them yourself here.”, he said.
“Thanks, you’re a lifesaver.”, I said.
“Come on, y’all are boring.”, Chase kept teasing.
“Chase, will you stop teasing Cam for one second?”, Sydney asked.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Cam’s wife!”, Chase yelled.
“WHAT!!!!”, she sparked in anger.
“Ha!”, Nikki scream-laughed.
“Quit it. When it’s funny, it’s funny. Most times, it’s weird.”, Sydney said.
We kept teasing each other and laughing hard until the school’s known fun sponge appeared, the teacher. No, not all teachers are fun sponges, some bring life to the party, but some know the exact time we are having fun and they come at the worst possible time to ruin the fun.
We had Calculus, one of the most dreaded subjects among high schoolers and the teacher, Mr. Floyd, didn’t make it any better. The guys and I seemed to pay attention, but I couldn’t help but notice some students in the same row as me who were half asleep.
Some were busy on their phones even. What was even more shocking is that they did it so discreetly that the teacher didn’t notice. The magic some students possess, wow!
Soon after Calculus class, the closing bell rung and we were about to go home when all of a sudden, Sydney voiced out a thought of hers.
“Guys, what activity can we do after the test? I really wanna do something fun.”, she said.
“Well, we…”, Cameron started to talk before Chase interrupted him.
“Don’t you dare say study.”
“Your bad, Chase. I was actually gonna suggest we go for karaoke.”, Cameron said.
“Is this real life? Cam can suggest something fun? Guys, pinch me.”, Chase non-stop teasing.
“You never get tired, do you?”, Sydney asked.
“Yeah, karaoke isn’t such a bad idea, but I.....uh....can’t sing.”, I said.
“Oh, um… taking that in, what else can we do?”, Sydney said disappointedly.
“How about just an arcade?”, Nikki suggested.
“Ooh, not bad, Nikki. Arcade. Sounds good.”, Chase said while giving her a high five.
“Yeah, that way, everyone gets a pick on what they like.”, I added.
“Yeah, okay.” We all agreed we would hit the arcade when all the tests are over.
Phew, thank goodness I avoided karaoke with them. Not that I didn't want to go with friends but, back in my previous school, something that made me never wanna pick up a mic again happened. But, good, no karaoke.
