Chapter 4: Face Him...Or Not?

Jace's POV:

I knew a bully doesn’t just strike once and call it quits, he had something in store for me and this group community proved my suspicion.

I immediately remembered his look. Richie A didn’t let go, in fact, he was planning this all along. I saw all what was written about me in the community.

It read,

“New kid already in trouble. This new kid, Jace, got all cheeky with the school’s one and only Richie A and Richie A did not let him go scot-free. It was said that Richie A stabbed him with a compass making him bleed. Talk about first day bad luck.”

As if that was not enough, the comments to that post like,

“He should know now that Richie A is not the guy you messed with."

“Poor him, only first day and he bled? He should leave the school because if he stays, he might not end this semester" filled me with anger.

Like what the hell? Going around posting fake news just to get back at me.

I had to let my anger subside before going back to Alvaro so he wouldn’t suspect anything at all. I went back to the living room to continue the movie. Lucky me, Alvaro was already immersed in the movie. But his concentration seemed to break when he saw me.

“Hey, so what was the buzzing all about?”

“Nothing much. Just this school online community I was added to.”

“Ah, okay, so we continue?”

“Right after you fill me in on what I missed.”

“Well, you didn’t miss much, just that the bully in the high school was picking on the school’s newcomer. And the whole thing was on something was based on something so little.”

“Well, that was perfectly timed”, I said to myself. “Why do bullies like to do things like this to people?”, I asked him.

“Coz, they think it’s fun and the people they pick on have no power to face them. But that’s where they have it wrong. See? In this part, the new guy finally stands up to him.”

“Really?”, I said then began watching the movie passionately. Somehow, the movie gave me a drive to face all these accusations that Richie A made, and when the movie ended, I then went to sleep with a confidence that even I knew was gonna be short-lived.

But it felt good to have irrational confidence.
“I’ll face him in school tomorrow.”, I said to myself right before going to bed.

Richie’s POV:

@Home, 9 p.m.

When I strike, I strike in a way you don’t forget. I made sure I planned this perfectly to avoid backfire.

First, I injured him physically with the compass, and then, I acted like that was the end to get him on edge and that worked like a charm.

See, I had to do that so when he thinks that’s the end, I can strike again and this time, hitting him hard while he was off-guard.

I first considered getting to him through compelling the senior admin, but that plan failed before it even started because that one already became friends with him, so she would most definitely say no.

So, I had to resort to compelling the Junior admin of the school group to post all those false acclaims in order to defame him and ruin that confidence of his. That was my mental and emotional gift to him so that when next he sees me, he’ll know that this school, although I don’t like school, I always get my way here and nobody dare challenge that.
