Within the next few minutes I realized - he had stolen my ring.
Without wasting a second, I was already scrambling down the ladder and diving through the window once more. The wind pushed me towards the door, which was now flung wide open. I followed the trail, rushing down the stairs, only to catch a glimpse of his dark silhouette darting out the door.
"Jason!" I shout, attempting him to stop, he doesn't even hesitate.
I continue chasing him through the dark night, the stars flickering against the night sky, boots moving through the puddles carelessly prior to the rain. I was determined to catch him.
He can't say he would change it all, regret it all but then suddenly steal the one thing that saved me multiple times already, more than Jason.
Maybe he lied, I know I can't trust him again.
Not like last time.
Just as I was catching up to him, his bike, previously parked, was now spreading off into the distance. With a frustrated huff, I jumped on my own bike and took after him. The wind whipped against my face as I raced to close the gap between us, my heart pounding in sync with the roar of my engine.
Jason obviously didn't even bother looking back. Cocky. Arrogant. He thought he had the upper hand. My fingers tightened on the throttle, the power humming beneath me. He may have stolen the ring, but this wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
I felt a shard of power becoming stronger earlier today fighting him, the unfinished business. Until contact with the ring was lost, now it's as if it all slipped away.
I could still feel the weight of the absence where the ring used to be, as if it lured inside of me, waiting for the moment it would reconnect with the source. The emptiness gnawed at me, a reminder of what he has taken, and the power that was now in his hands. A part of me wanted to scream. Another part wanted to beat him senseless.
And the old, small tingling part of me, wanted to be comforted by him. For one last time.
Gosh that sounds awkward and weird.
Never.
Thoughts in my brain spun like a cog, why did he take the ring? To use it? To make it even more powerful for himself?
"Your ring, It's too dangerous, you've not learned to control the -"
To save me?
His words didn't help me, I doubt he ever felt bad for me. He got to be the side-kick and beat the cops asses for himself, without me. Meanwhile I was in prison for his actions.
