Okay so a lot happened last year, it began with the murders of Steve Orth and Casey Becker. That put the town of Woodsboro on a path of misery and fear because it used to be a peaceful community. Karen was trying very hard to forget the madness and focus on what was most important to her. She was currently getting ready for the day and she hated working in the morning but she knew that she had to get up early. You see, when she and Randy gave up their virginity's to each other in the not so appropriate section in the video store, something unexpected happened.
Karen was taken out of her thoughts when she heard tiny whines from the other side of the room. She walked to the other side to the baby crib and she picked her three month old baby boy. Apparently, Karen and Randy never had any protection so that led to her getting pregnant. Initially, Karen was unsure of what to do, she didn't think she was good or responsible enough to be a mother. But thanks to the support from Randy, his family, Dewey, Judy, and surprisingly Sidney, she was able to make it through.
When her son was born she named him, Andrew Thomas Tobias Meeks, she made Dewey the godfather and Judy the godmother. Randy made Sidney the godmother, but Karen didn't know where she was with Sidney. Initially she hated her for her treatment towards Randy, and then Sidney locked them out of the house to potentially be killed out of paranoia. Randy had hoped that she would make an effort to get along with Sidney but after the Woodsboro Murders, she basically ignored Sidney's existence. The only reason Karen came to Windsor College was because Randy was there, she took the course of becoming a teacher.
She stayed in the dorm with Randy and his dorm mate, Paul. Paul was cool with the dorming with Karen, whenever he had time he would babysit for Karen and Randy when neither of them had time. She was enjoying her time rocking her son slowly as he back sleep in her arms. But sadly the moment was short lived when she turned on the TV, she saw the news about murders at a movie theater, but what worried her more was that it was during a screening of the movie, Stab. It was a film based on Gale Weathers' exaggerated book about The Woodsboro Murders.
Deep down, Karen that it couldn't be a coincidence and she decided to find Randy. She knew that people might question her for the murders, she grabbed her hoodie and put it on. She pulled the hood on her head and put her hair inside and then she grabbed a blanket and wrapped her son in it. Karen put on her sunglasses and carried her son out of the dorm room attempting to get out unrecognized. Once Karen got out of the building she saw reporters out on the side talking to each other, she held her son tightly to her chest hoping they didn't see her.
She was able to get away from the reporters unnoticed and walked all the way to Randy's class. Much to her annoyance, Sidney ended up in the same hallway as her and approached her.
"You saw the news today ?" Sidney asked but Karen ignored her.
They both finally got to Randy's class and saw him debating with his classmates. He noticed them at the door and they gestured for him to come with them. They walked out the class and walked outside, Sidney was trying to warn them it might happen again but Randy thought otherwise.
"Three hundred people watched. Nobody did anything. They thought it was a publicity stunt for Christ sakes." Sidney said in disbelief.
"And it would've been a good one too." Randy said in a British accent.
"It's starting again, Randy."
"It's not. A lot of shit happens in the movies. People get robbed, shot, maimed, murdered. Multiplex is just a very dangerous place to be these days.
"Yeah, and you are in extreme denial." Sidney said.
"And you should be too. This has nothing to do with us." Randy replied.
