Motherhood (Short Chapter)

(This is mostly RJ centric)

That RJ was currently sleeping on the couch with his little Superman pajamas on the couch. But Sidney walked over and gently shook him to wake him up. And he started moving around and opened his tired eyes and yawned as he stretched out his arms and legs. Sidney smiled at the sight, it wasn't easy being a single mother but after a while she got used to raising him. She made a promise to his mother that she would protect him and so far she was doing great.

"It's time to wake up, sweetheart. I'm about to make you breakfast and I want you to be ready. And then you can watch X-Men. How does that sound ?" Sidney said and RJ smiled her.

Sidney smiled at him as he sat up quickly and she walked to the kitchen. She grabbed the dog food from the floor and was about to pour it in Cherokee's bowl. Suddenly she heard disturbing news on the TV.

"Hollywood is reeling today from news of the murder of controversial talk show host Cotton Weary. Weary had recently finished shooting a cameo as himself in the film Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro, the third and final part of the famous horror series based on the Woodsboro and Windsor College murders. Before his rise to fame, Cotton had been imprisoned, and was later exonerated for the murder of Maureen Prescott, his former love..." The News Woman was cut off when Sidney turned on Disney Channel for RJ.

She didn't want him to know, see, or learn about any of it until he was old enough. Sidney dread's the future conversation she will have with him, how was she supposed to tell him what happened to his parents ? Later that night, RJ was sleeping on the couch with Sidney sleeping next to him. Then suddenly, Sidney started moving rapidly in her sleep causing RJ to wake up. RJ saw her breathing heavily and placing her hands in her face and he moved over to her and hugged her on the side.

Sidney looked down and smiled at him and hugged him back. Two days later, it was morning time and RJ was watching Batman Beyond while Sidney and her father watched him while he wasn't noticing.

"Are you sure about this ?" Neil asked her.

"Yes, I can't protect him while I go out there. I made a promise to his mother that I would protect him and this is way to do it. If he's with you he won't be a target." Sidney said. She walked over to RJ and planted a kiss on top of his head.

"RJ, mommy is going to be away for a tiny bit. You'll have to stay with your grandpa for a while until I get back." Sidney said hugging her son and walked out the room.

RJ looked up at Neil and smiled at him and Neil returned the smile as he walked over and picked RJ up from the couch and leave the room with a bag on his shoulder. A lot of things happened for Tommy over the next week, after spending some time with his grandpa he was experiencing some adjustments. His mother had gotten a boyfriend named, Mark Kincaid, and Tommy immediately warmed up to him. He saw his Uncle Dewey again and met his girlfriend, Gale Weathers. He was currently waiting in the kitchen for his mother to get back inside the house. The door opened and Sidney led Cherokee inside the house and came in behind him.

"Sid, we've been waiting for you. We're gonna start a movie." Mark said walking over holding a bowl of popcorn in his right hand while wearing a sling on his left.

"What kind of movie?" Sidney asked.

"You have to come and see." Mark said as he walked into the living room with Gale and Dewey following him.

Sidney started walking in their direction with RJ walking behind her. Then suddenly the door opened by itself and Sidney looked at the door for a moment. RJ walked over and wrapped an arm around her leg, Sidney looked down and smiled at him. She bent down and picked him up in her arms and kissed him on his forehead and walked to the living room.

This was a new beginning ? Right ?
