Kirishima was putting the final accessories to his suit on when he heard the door of the changing room swing open.  He looked over and saw Katsuki walk through the door. He looked defeated, Kirishima had never seen his friend look so down. Not even after a battle the alpha technically didn't win. He always stayed optimistic despite the end result. He would boast about how he beat the hell out of the villain even if someone else brought them down or they got away.

"Bakugo..hey! I thought you weren't coming, its so late. Why did you just get here- uh.. are you okay, bro?"

It was 9:52 in the morning, their patrol started in eight minutes. Katsuki was never late. He often got called to Hawks' office but even then he was in the changing room 20 minutes before starting the day.

"Shut up, not in the mood, Idiot"

Kirishima decided to keep quiet until the two were on patrol together. The city was bustling with people heading to work and starting their days. The air was cool, chilly even. Kirishima regretted not wearing anything warmer than his topless suit. The two walked the street in silence. They passed many people all busy heading to different destinations. Kirishima watched the clouds slowly move in the sky. He struggled to start a conversation with Katsuki, running different conversation starters over and over in his head before settling with one.

"So, how was your night.. y'know with Midoriya?"

Kirishima made sure his tone of voice was soft and sincere. He assumed beating around the bush would be useless. Something obviously happened between the two and he was worried. He just hoped his friend would talk about his feelings with him, even though that was abnormal.

"I'm not fucking talking about it"

"It always helps to talk things out, man"

"No the fuck it doesn't, shut up about it"

Kirishima smiled to himself, he knew how to get Katsuki to talk. He rubbed his hands against his arms to hopefully generate heat to his freezing limbs.

"I was talking to Ryuu the other day, I saw him in the cafe" He looked over to make sure Katsuki was listening

"I've never actually spoken to him but I hear his mate, Quill, talk about him all of the time. He always speaks so highly of Ryuu, it's so manly!" He saw Bakugo's face turn more into a frown.

"Uh- well, we started talking about Midoriya. He said he had never seen him get so invested in a project"

Katsuki growled. "What the fuck are you on about, hah?"

"I'm just sayin', bro. I don't know what's gotten you so down, but Midoriya must think highly of you if he's so devoted to your supports."

"What the fuck-" Katsuki lowered his voice when he noticed people look over at him when he started his angry reply to Kiri.

"You have no idea what happened.. so don't try to act like you do, shitty hair"

Kirishima shrugged his shoulders.

"Fine, yknow what-" Katsuki pulled Kirishima into an alleyway and shoved him against the wall. He stuck a finger in the other alphas face and yelled at him in a hushed tone.

"I fucked up, I fucked up so fucking bad I don't even know what to do. How the hell can I come back from that, Eijiro? You have no idea how shitty everything I did was."

"What happened, Bakubro?" He gave his angry friend a warm smile.

Katsuki backed up, his face lightened and turned from anger to an expression his friend did not see often.
