The next morning, Lingling woke up with the soft glow of dawn peeking through the curtains. Casting a warm glow over the room.

As her eyes fluttered open, the memories of the previous day came flooding back. She couldn't help but wonder if it had all been a dream, the unexpected reunion with Orm, the message that had ignited her heart in the night, all seemed too good to be true.

However, the lingering feelings of longing and hope that still coursed through her veins told her it was all too real. Reluctant to face reality, Lingling laid in bed, lost in a haze of conflicting emotions.

With a resigned sigh, Lingling mustered the strength to rise from the embrace of her bed.

Once in the bathroom, she turned on the shower, letting the warm water cascade over her, hoping for it to wash away all the remnants of her worries and fears with it's gentle touch.

As Lingling stood under the steady stream, her thoughts once again drifted towards ex-lover. The image of her face, the tenderness in her voice, lingered in her mind, leaving her slightly conflicted. Feeling a mixture of yearning and longing, coupled with a pang of bitterness for the hurt Orm had once caused her.

Emerging from the steamy shower, Lingling wrapped a luxurious white towel around her, the soft fabric embracing her form as droplets of water still clung onto her skin.

Lingling's mind drifted back to Orm's words from yesterday. And no matter how much she tried to deny it, her heart couldn't ignore the butterflies that fluttered within her.

However, a pang of guilt washed over, reminding her of her marital status and the complicated emotions that came with it.

With renewed determination, Lingling set about getting ready for the day. Instead of selecting a practical and subdued outfit, she chose a more alluring ensemble, accentuating her natural allure with a hint of makeup that brought out her charming features. Each brushstroke and piece of clothing carried the hope that Orm would indeed appear in the bakery once again.

Lingling finally stepped outside the house, the cool morning air brushing against her face as she walked towards the bakery. Her heart felt lighter than it had in a long time, the anticipation of potentially seeing Orm again injecting a sense of excitement into her monotonous life.

Lingling's day at the bakery continued, each passing hour bringing another wave of disappointment as the minutes ticked by and Orm still hadn't shown up. She tried to keep her mind occupied with her work, but it went all in vain.

As the hours passed by, her initial anticipation slowly turned into a subtle melancholy that settled in her chest, the hope she had been clinging to fading with every minute that passed without any sign of Orm. She couldn't help but feel a pang of regret at letting herself get her hopes up, despite knowing better.

Abruptly, the usual monotony of her day was interrupted by a delivery man holding a bouquet of Middlemist Red flowers, her favorite. The sight of the familiar flowers instantly flooded her with a sense of recognition, her hand trembling a little as she accepted the arrangement.

Lingling unfolded a small note tucked amongst the blooms, the elegant handwriting instantly recognizable as Orm's. She carefully took out the note, her hands trembling slightly with anticipation.

"My dearest Lingling,

These flowers, as rare and beautiful as the love and devotion I still carry in my heart for you. I hope they bring a smile to your face like the thought of you does for me.

I yearn to see you again. If you feel the same, please meet me at the address attached. I'll be waiting for your arrival from 7 PM onwards.

Yours, Orm"

Orm had proposed a rendezvous in a hotel - a blatant declaration of intent and desire. The idea alone stirred a mixture of excitement and trepidation within Lingling. The hotel's discreet location left no room for misinterpretation, and Lingling couldn't deny the fluttering of anticipation that danced through her veins.

With the note clutched in her hand, Lingling stared at the address, her mind swirling with conflicting thoughts and emotions.

The very sight of Orm's note had awakened something deep within her soul - a longing that had never truly faded, even after all these years apart. The memories of their time together flooded her mind, filling her heart with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and unfulfilled desire.

Lingling couldn't hate Orm no matter how much she tried to. The depth of her love prevented her from nursing resentment, and she believed that love was so powerful that it could never breed hatred. She still believed that Orm must have had a reason for leaving her all those years. And she was determined to know it.
