Days turned into weeks, and Lingling found herself struggling to maintain her composure. The monotony of hotel life, coupled with the constant fear of Jake finding her, was taking its toll. She wondered how Orm was faring with the paparazzi and the rumors, hoping that she was managing to stay strong despite the challenges she faced.

One evening, as Lingling sat by the window, watching the city lights flicker in the distance, her phone buzzed with an incoming message. Her heart leapt at the sight of Orm's name on the screen, and she quickly opened the message, her fingers trembling with anticipation.

"Hey, beautiful," Orm's message read, a picture of her smiling face attached. "I know you're going through a tough time, but I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you. I'm almost done dealing with all this mess, and I can't wait to be by your side again. Hang in there, okay? Love you!"

Lingling's heart fluttered as she read Orm's message, a mix of sadness and joy washing over her. The longing for her lover was more intense than ever, she longed to feel Orm's reassuring touch and hear her soothing voice. She missed her warmth and the sense of safety that Orm's presence brought.

With trembling fingers, she typed a reply, her words tinged with a hint of desperation. "I can't wait to see you again. Every moment without you feels like an eternity."

While Lingling sat by the window, missing Orm and exchanging heartfelt messages with her, Jake's mind was fixated on a sinister plan. He had been seething with rage and frustration, desperate to find Lingling and exact his revenge.

Realizing that he couldn't find Lingling on his own, he resorted to a more calculated approach. He reached out to Lingling's parents and spun a web of lies, painting himself as the victim in the situation. He manipulated the narrative and twisted the truth, making Lingling seem like the villain and himself as the innocent, wronged party.

Jake had managed to meet with Lingling's mother, determined to put on a show of concern and helplessness. Sitting across from her, his eyes filled with a mixture of feigned hurt and confusion, he spoke in a voice filled with practiced sympathy.

"I just don't understand it," he said softly, his tone almost pleading. "Her disappearance has left me feeling lost and confused. I know we've had our ups and downs, but I still care for her deeply. I just want to make sure she's safe and okay."

Jake leaned in closer to Lingling's mother, his expression serious.
"I just can't understand why she would do this," he said, his voice laced with a hint of anger. "I did everything for her, provided for her, loved her. And this is how she repays me?

Jake clenched his fists, feigning hurt and confusion. "I just want her to come back home, to talk to me and explain what's going on. Is that too much to ask?"

Jake leaned in closer, a look of faux concern on his face. "There have been a lot of rumors circulating lately," he said, his voice laced with feigned worry. "About the famous actress Orm being involved with some woman, a secret affair. And I can't help but wonder if it's related to Lingling's disappearance..."

He paused, as if mulling over the situation. "You know Lingling," he continued. "She's always been vulnerable to outside influences. Maybe someone's manipulating her, pulling her away from me."

Mrs Kwong's eyes widened in surprise as Jake mentioned Orm's name, a mix of bewilderment and concern painted across her face.

"Orm? The actress?" she asked, her voice betraying a hint of incredulity. "What does she have to do with all of this? How is she involved?"

She leaned back in her chair, processing the new information. "Are you saying that Lingling left because of her?"

Jake's voice grew more serious, his tone heavy with suspicion. "There's more to it," he continued. "I even saw a picture that's been going around online. The woman in it was a bit blurry, but there was a striking resemblance to Lingling. It's why I can't shake off the feeling that there might be a connection between Orm and her disappearance."

Lingling's mother's eyes widened further, the news about the picture adding to her worry. "Can I see it?" she asked, her voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and dread.

Jake pulled out his phone, quickly scrolling through the internet to find the picture he was talking about. When he found it, he turned the screen towards Lingling's mother, silently handing her the phone. The picture was indeed blurry, but the resemblance to Lingling was undeniable, even in the grainy pixels.

Lingling's mother's face darkened as she spoke, her voice betraying a mix of anger and frustration. "Orm," she repeated, her voice laced with contempt. "I knew this woman would bring trouble to our family again. I can't believe she's back, stirring up trouble once more."

Mrs Kwong's eyes narrowed, filled with anger and resentment. "Five years ago, I thought I had dealt with her. I thought she was out of our lives for good. But it seems like she's found a way to cause more chaos."
