Zoriana and Dakari waited in the examination room of her obstetrician's office. Her doctor wants to see her every two weeks because of how late she found out about her pregnancy. The baby and Zoriana are both doing fine but the doctors want to be sure they continue to be fine. It's two days before Dakari's birthday and Christmas Eve and he's just getting home from college, and he has to be back on the twenty-sixth.
"What you wanna eat baby girl?" Dakari asked reaching over to palm her stomach
"Papa you made like a five-star breakfast I'm not hungry right now," Zoriana said looking up from her phone
"Oh girl I was talking to my baby, she be lowkey talking to me" Dakari smirked making the girl roll her eyes
"You're insane " she laughed as he took a picture of her
"Yeah but you married me tho" he shrugged having zero shame
"We need to bring back shame," Zoriana said before her doctor walked in
"We do Zozo, and who might this be? I noticed your last name changed because that ain't the last name I sent your newborn self off with but I didn't want to overthink it" Doctor Thomas said while washing her hands, Zoriana had just stopped seeing her pediatrician so she was referred to a family medicine doctor that her parents go to and the obstetrician is in the same network with them and she happened to give birth to the girl eighteen years ago. Zoriana felt peace knowing she was in safe hands. Her doctors really care for her and she appreciates it.
"So we're currently living a big lie but I'm Dakari Banks her secret husband and baby daddy it's nice to finally meet you, Doctor Thomas, my wife usually lets me listen to the appointment over the phone because I go to Howard and she goes to PV," Dakari said introducing himself
"It's nice to meet you too Dakari, I didn't want to intrude too much on my girl's life but I was going crazy trying to figure out who got this baby pregnant then boom it's another baby. But it's great that you two have plans and I'm going to go easy on you because you attend the illustrious Howard University where I graduated three times" Doctor Thomas said making the young man smile
"See I knew I liked you," Dakari said making Zoriana look over at his friendly ass, he's usually mean ass hell to new people but lately she's noticed him being nicer
"Oop lil mama don't play about you Mister Banks," Doctor Thomas said sitting on the stool watching Zoriana
"It's mutual I love you mama" he smiled at her making her smile
"You better because you did this to me" She pointed to her slightly rounded stomach
"Umm baby we both did it remember?" Dakari asked forgetting the doctor was in the room
"Oh yall is grown grown, this is my first baby that having a baby, you know I delivered her my first year as an ob-gyn?" Doctor Thomas asked while setting the ultrasound machine up
