"Morning, Appa," Jihyo entered the kitchen to see his father busy preparing their breakfast on the stove. Packed lunches and assortment of ingredients were lined up on the kitchen counter. Jihyo took a small piece of crispy fried pork and popped it into his mouth. He gave a satisfied moan at the burst of flavors.

"Morning, where's your mother?" Jeongyeon said as he added veggies into the stir fry, then he continued to flip the contents of the skillet with a swift flick of his wrist. "I already packed lunches for the both of you."

"I told her to take a shower," Jihyo poured himself a cup of coffee, sighing at the fragrant aroma of freshly brewed coffee beans. He appreciates his father great taste in everything food related. Jeongyeon wasn't the previous Prime Minister's personal chef for nothing.

"Another busy day in the office?" He plated the stir fry before adding some garnishes. The dish looked like it was straight out of a fancy restaurant or a commercial on TV. "Can you wake up your younger siblings?"

"I'm on it," Jihyo left the kitchen to stand at the base of the staircase before inhaling a deep breath.

"DACHAETZU!!"

Three zombie-like figures staggered out of their individual rooms.

"My ears are still ringing," the tofu-like girl said, her brows creased at her older brother's antics.

"Headache..." the small cub said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I think the whole house just shook," the tall maknae said while softly closing her door.

They all shuffled downstairs, careful not to fall on each other as they made their way. They grumbled as Jihyo gathered them at the dining table. Meanwhile, Jeongyeon served his gourmet-like breakfast buffet with Dahyun coming his aid.

"Enough whining, you guys should eat breakfast. Tzuyu and Chaeng have classes today, right?" They both nodded. It was the first day back to school for Tzuyu while the small cub have to revise his thesis for the nth time. He excused himself from the table to get painkillers from the medicine kit. "What about you Dahyun?"

"Waiting for my agent to call, for now I'll help out at the restaurant," Dahyun said, busying herself with plating small portions of everything for her younger siblings. Their father always cooks an awful lot of food in the morning that sometimes there are still leftovers for dinner time.

She served Tzuyu her breakfast, earning a small smile and a 'thank you' from the tall maknae, before preparing Chaeyoung's breakfast. The small cub slowly made his way back to the dining table while pressing his index fingers to his temples, just thinking about his thesis made his head throb.

They waited for their father to take a sit at the head of the table before digging into their food. Jihyo quickly ate his breakfast, practically inhaling everything on his plate. It was a bad example for his younger siblings but time was running low and they need to get in the office in time. Their mother was still missing in action halfway into the quiet breakfast.

"Appa, may I be excused?" The eldest son said after wiping his mouth with a table napkin.

Their father nodded and he calmly walked out of the kitchen. When he reached the staircase, however, he went full throttle taking two steps at a time and making it to the master's bedroom in a matter of seconds.

"Eomma!" Loud noises can be heard upstairs. The ones left at the dining table prayed that they won't get another noise complaint letter from their neighbors. It was a nice neighborhood, they don't want to move again. Jeongyeon briefly considered making the whole house soundproof.

After minutes of endless screams and screeching, like someone's soul being sucked into the abyss, everything went quiet. Jihyo appeared in the kitchen once again, now accompanied by their mother.

"Morning my lovelies," Nayeon cooed at everyone, like the last few minutes didn't happen at all. She was wearing her business attire, a white button down blouse under a black blazer and pencil cut skirt reaching two inches above her knees. While Jihyo's previously immaculate dark blue suit was now slightly wrinkled in some places and his tie was loose.

"Nayeon, you shouldn't give Jihyo a hard time in the morning," Jeongyeon shook his head, earning a glare from his wife. This is how their mornings usually starts. "Sorry about that, son."

"It's fine, I'm used to it," Jihyo said, casually fixing his tie. He was immune to it at this point.

"Yeah, Eomma," the eldest daughter commented while the cub and the maknae chimed in unison. "Poor Oppa."

Nayeon rolled her eyes at them. She stood on her tip toes to give her eldest son a small peck on the cheek. Jihyo cringed at the contact. He always hated mushy stuff and would always try to dodge when his mother does that. This time, however, he was caught off guard.

"There," Nayeon said as she wiped a little bit of lipstick stain on his cheek. "All better."

She turned to everyone and opened her arms wide as if giving a bear hug. "Now give Eomma a kiss!"

Everyone stood up from their seats, except Tzuyu. Even their father who hates PDA, albeit hesitantly.

"Baby Tzu," Nayeon came closer to her youngest daughter with her lips puckered.

"No," Tzuyu abruptly stood up, dodging her mother's childish advances. This went on for a few minutes with Nayeon trying to climb the tall maknae like a pole. Their mother is always so weird and clingy.

"Maknae please," Jihyo let out a sigh, if their mother had kissed him then everyone might as well suffer as he did. Tzuyu cautiously lowered her head down to their mother's reach when she heard the frustration in her brother's voice, and let Nayeon finally kiss her cheek. She made a small noise of disgust at the contact.

"Eomma, let's go," Jihyo grabbed for his car keys and gently pulled at his mother's arm, who was hugging Tzuyu.

"Okay, we'll see you guys later tonight," They left but not before receiving their lunch boxes from Jeongyeon, he also handed a cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich for Nayeon to eat on the ride to work.

This is just a typical morning for the Yoo family household.
