BILLIE

I haven't talked to Talia much. She's been distant and I understand why.

I wish things could go back to the way they were.

I know they won't.

Part of me prays for it. The other tells me to give up.

Maybe she really doesn't like girls anymore. Maybe I should really just give up.

Until my phone goes off.

In real life

I grab my car keys, put them in my pocket and go outside.

I get in my car and start driving to Talia's place with the radio on.

When I get to her apartment complex, I send her a text, letting her know I'm here and she comes out.

TALIA

I'm so nervous.

I take a deep breath as I get into Billie's car. "Hey." I smile.

"Hi." She grins shyly. "Ready to go?"

"Mhm." I nod.

She turns the music up and this really pretty song comes on.

One I've never heard.

"I saw her in the rightest way, looking like Anne Hathaway. Laughing while she hit her pen and coughed, and coughed."

Billie looks at me with a smile and I smile back.
