             Kiara

"I'm all set and ready to go," Kelly said to me with the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face.

Before she arrived, I waited for her in the living room. It was quite wierd as I've been trying my best to avoid Kelvin after that kiss. Moreover, I wasn't the one who chased someone else after kissing another. I was just too embarrassed to talk to him and he had been trying to have a conversation with me but I found various excuses to walk out of the conversation. What got me tired was when Alison constantly glanced at me each time Kelvin approached me. I just want a stress free life but it's something no one wants to understand.

"Why are you telling her?" Alison asked. "It's your dad dropping you, right?"

"No," Kelly sternly replied. "Mummy and I are going together in a separate car. Which is why we wore similar outfits."

I ordered what would suit us best. It was a navy baggy jeans and a crop hoodie.

"It's the perfect style for a mother and daughter duo," said, the woman who I purchased it from online and it turns out she was right. I even helped Kelly with her hair.

Upon seeing her, one would think she's my daughter after all, we do look alike.

"Did you agree to this?" Alison faced Kelvin.

"Since Kelly was born, I've never seen this type of happiness on her face and I don't want to take it away either," was Kelvin's reply.

"You think she's happy with Kiara?"

"Obviously not," I remarked sarcastically making Kelly giggle. "How about you go wait for me in the car? I'll be right behind you," I said to Kelly and she obeyed.

"She can't even take care of herself. What makes you think putting Kelly in the same car with her is safe?" his uncle asked.

Today was a good day for Kelly and I honestly do not want to ruin it. She deserves better. Hence I picked up her backpack and stormed out of the house.

"Did something happen while I was gone?" Kelly asked innocently after noticing my mood change.

"Nothing to worry about," I faked a smile. "Put on your seatbelt," I ordered and she obeyed. Everything was set so I drove off.

At the school event

We arrived at the school much earlier than the rest so we waited for them. I held onto Kelly's hands tightly. She looked nervous and her sweaty palms said it all.

I bent down to her height. "Let's sing the chorus together," I said and she looked confused. "Isn't your mother's voice the one that keeps you calm? Your best memory if I remember. So close your eyes and hum the tune. Feel like she's right beside you and I'll sing along."

Kelly closed her eyes and I began.

There's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark
You should know you're beautiful just the way you are
You don't have to change a thing the world could change it's heart
No scars to your beautiful , we're stars and we are beautiful.

She opened her eyes and smiled at me. I was about to smile back but a familiar figure caught my attention and my expression changed.

     "Is everything okay?" Kelly noticed.

I stood up and asked Ian, "What are you doing here?" looking him in the eye.

"I see you've moved on to becoming a nanny. I can't believe you decided to finally become someone's wife. What happened to 'i will be with you no matter what, Ian. I love you'. You really amaze me beautiful," he taunted me.
