Kiara
One week passed and Kelly still hadn't regained consciousness. I was really getting worried about her but Kelvin seemed calm about it which made me believe it was nothing serious.
I've missed her a lot and I tend to get pretty lonely without her around. I'm so worried about her that I couldn't even concentrate on work.
"Kiara," Becca called out again. This was the third time I was spacing out in front of her. "If this is what getting married does to people then I don't think my time is now," she joked and I managed to let out a fake smile.
"Is everything okay? Do you want to talk about it?" she saw through me.
"I'm fine," I lied. It's not like I can tell Becca what's going on.
"I was talking about your latest album 'Passion'. We've been receiving requests from other artists about their interest in the song and plans of how they want to do a remix.
Come to think of it, remixing Passion won't be a bad idea but the main question is do I have the time to get it remixed. I'll probably have the time but might end up regretting it in the end due to family stress. Kelvin's uncle or dad don't let a day pass by without looking for chances to point out my mistake and I'm honestly sick and tired of them.
"Keep their requests hanging for a little while. I'll think about it," I said, unable to decline the offer with Becca's eager eyes boring into mine.
"Fine, I'll take my leave," she said and gathered all the files on my table, giving me one final look of 'i know something's up' before leaving.
I could finally breathe a sigh of relief after her departure even after knowing that Bryan would be here few minutes later to torture me with work.
My phone rang for the 16th time and it was the same unknown caller ID.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, already pissed off by everything.
"What!" I exclaimed. The information passed to me was enough to calm me down.
"If this is some kind of joke then you had better end it now," I warned.
"Alright then, I'll be right there," in a swift mood, I disconnected the call, picked up my bag and ran to open the door but Bryan came in before I could go out, making my head collide with the door.
"Ouch," I yelled, dropping my bag in pain.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," he said, placing the documents in his hands somewhere else and rushing over to meet me. "You are bleeding," he observed after examining my forehead.
"I'm fine," I said, looking for my bag.
"Let me clean the wound before it gets infested," he offered.
"No," I declined. "I have somewhere important to be right now. I'll have my injury attended to over there," with that, i finally found my bag and ran out of the studio into my car.
The ride back home wasn't an easy one because I was bleeding so bad that it was blurring my vision. My eyes felt like it was in multiple places at once and I was about to run someone over but I was lucky nothing bad happened.
I got home safe and parked my car. Not quite sure I'd say I parked it well.
I ran to the only place I wanted to be right now and the beautiful smile she shot me was enough to tell me my attempts weren't in vain.
"Mummy," she called out and that words alone dragged me over to her and engulfed her in a tight hug.
"I missed you," I said, hugging her even tighter.
