The dim light of the tower flickered, casting long shadows over the cold, stone floor. Naomi's heart sank as she looked down at Rob's lifeless body, his face pale and serene despite the violence that had just erupted.
Erza knelt beside him, her red hair falling over her eyes, masking the tears that stained her cheeks. There was a storm within her, a tempest of grief and fury that threatened to swallow her whole.
What happened?" Naomi's voice trembled, barely piercing the heavy air thick with loss.
Jellal... the guards took him," Erza replied, her tone hollow as she stared blankly at Rob.
Naomi's mind raced as panic set in. "We need to leave the tower, Erza! We can't stay here!"
But Erza's eyes, usually filled with determination, were full of something darker now. "No, I can't leave him. I have to save Jellal!"
Before Naomi could grasp her wrist and pull her back, Erza had already sprinted down the hallway, her resolve unwavering, her heart set ablaze by the desire to save her friend... or perhaps something else.
Gripping her own sadness and anger, Naomi chased after her, but the distant clanks of armor drew closer. A dozen guards materialized before her, their faces hard and unyielding.
You will return back to your cell like the good little slave you are" one of the guards shoutrd as the other guards began advancing on Naomi
Naomi's pulse quickened. She couldn't let them stop her; she couldn't let them stop Erza. Harnessing her chakra, she formed the hand signs, feeling the heat rise within her.
Fire Release: Burning Drill!" Naomi shouted, unleashing a spiraling inferno that whirled through the guards like a flaming drill. They cried out in horror, their bodies engulfed in flames as they fell, helpless against her might.
Without a second thought, she dashed past their smoldering remains, the flames still licking at the cold stone. "Erza! Where are you?!" Naomi yelled, hoping her voice could pierce through the chaos and reach her new friend.
Bursting out of the tower, the salty breeze hit Naomi's face, contrasting sharply with the bitterness of her despair. She skidded to a halt and her heart dropped. There, walking away with a malevolent smirk etched across his face, was Jellal. For a fleeting moment, she wanted to confront him and ask what happened, but Naomi was lost in the whirlpool of emotions battling within her.
To Naomi's right, she saw boats bobbing on the water, their forms shifting with the current. A sudden, titanic wave crashed down, uprooting one of the boats violently. Naomi gasped, her heart racing as she spotted Erza flailing in the water, her fiery hair a bright beacon in the chaotic blue.
Erza!" Naomi shouted, her voice laced with desperation. Without thinking, she leaped into the water. The frigid temperature bit at her skin, but the urgency of the moment fueled her resolve. Summoning her chakra, Naomi began to run across the surface of the water, her feet barely touching the crashing waves.
Hang on, Erza! I'm coming!" she shouted, her voice carried by the wind.
