The door to Makarov's office creaked open, revealing the inside of a room filled with mementos of the guild's rich history. There were trophies from past victories, framed photographs of unforgettable adventures, and a large desk cluttered with papers as Erza looked around the room unimpressed.
This place is boring, Onee-san," Erza muttered, crossing her arms defiantly.
Naomi giggled in response her bright purple eyes sparkling with mischief. "But it's the office of the master! There must be so many stories here!" she chimed in, her excitement palpable.
Makarov, the guild's master, sighed heavily from behind his desk, muttering something about "disrespectful brats" and how they didn't understand the beauty of his office. He shook his head, a slight smile creeping onto his face despite himself.
Alright, you two," Makarov said, adjusting his glasses, "what's your names?"
Naomi stepped forward, her confidence shining through. "I'm Naomi Uzumaki! And this is Erza Scarlet!"
Makarov's brow furrowed with confusion. "So why is Erza calling you Onee-san? Are you two related?"
Naomi shook her head. "No, but I see Erza as my little sister. I promised someone that I would protect her."
Makarov's curiosity piqued. "And what brings you both to Fairy Tail?"
Erza's expression darkened, her cheerful demeanor fading. "Before... before old man Rob died, he told me to come here," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Makarov's heart sank as he recalled his old friend, Rob. Suddenly, Naomi spoke up, eager to fill the silence.
Let me explain, Master!" Naomi exclaimed energetically, which seemed to lighten the mood. "We were taken to the Tower of Heaven, where we were forced to become slaves. But we refused to give up!"
As Naomi recounted the harrowing events, Makarov's expression shifted from confusion to anger and sorrow. The tales of children forced into labor, their spirits crushed—he had heard such stories before, but hearing them from the lips of youthful survivors filled him with a mix of rage and sadness. The world could be so cruel.
Why did you decide to join Fairy Tail, Naomi?" Makarov inquired gently, hoping to steer the conversation toward brighter paths.
Naomi looked up at him, her resolve firm. "Because wherever Erza goes, I follow! I made a promise to Rob that I would protect her. Fairy Tail is a place where we can be family and fight together!"
Makarov felt a wave of pride swell within him. It warmed his heart to see that even in such darkness, friendships could shine so brightly. "Rob would be proud," he murmured, his eyes glistening with admiration for the two girls. "You've both got a strong spirit. I'd be honored to welcome you into our family."
In response, Makarov pulled out two special stamps from his desk—a symbol of their new beginnings. "Now, where would you like your guild marks, and what colors do you want?"
Erza immediately replied, "I want the stamp in blue and right in the middle of my left upper arm."
Naomi smiled brightly, "And I want mine in purple on my left hand!"
Makarov chuckled softly, his heart lightening as he prepared the stamps. With swift but careful movements, he pressed the inked stamps against their skin, marking them as members of Fairy Tail. They looked at each other, their eyes shining with excitement and hope.
As they left the office, Makarov's voice carried through the halls, echoing with a familiar authority. "Everyone! We have two new members joining Fairy Tail—Naomi Uzumaki and Erza Scarlet!"
The hall erupted into cheers and applause. Guild members rushed forward, welcoming the newcomers with open arms.
Let's throw a party!" someone shouted, and the suggestion was met with enthusiastic approval.
Within moments, the guild hall transformed into a vibrant celebration. Festive decorations adorned the walls, and tables filled with food and drinks appeared, as laughter and music filled the air. Naomi and Erza found themselves enveloped by joyful members, each eager to introduce themselves and share stories.
As the night wore on, both girls felt a warmth swell within them. This was more than just a guild; it was a family, a place where they could finally start anew, together. Naomi squeezed Erza's hand, sharing a knowing smile, both of them ready to take on whatever the world threw at them—with the power of their newfound family backing them up.
In the heart of Fairy Tail, under the glow of love and camaraderie, they knew they had found the place they truly belonged.
