The evening sun cast a warm golden hue over Magnolia as Naomi and Erza stepped into their cozy apartment, lighthearted after successfully completing their first mission together.
The thrill of their shared adventure glimmered in their eyes, a glow fueled by excitement and camaraderie.
Erza was practically bouncing on her heels. "I can't believe we did it, Onee-san! We worked so well together. It was exhilarating!" Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm.
Naomi laughed, her heart swelling with pride for her partner. "You were amazing out there, Erza. How about we celebrate with dinner? I know just the place!"
With a nod of agreement, they ventured out into the lively streets of Magnolia, each step filled with anticipation for their dinner plans. Naomi led the way to a quaint bakery she had discovered during her explorations of the town—a place known for its delightful pastries and welcoming atmosphere.
As they entered, the rich aroma of baked goods enveloped them like a warm embrace.
So, what do you want to get?" Naomi asked, glancing at Erza, who was already eyeing the display case filled with mouth-watering desserts.
Erza's face lit up. "Strawberry cake!" she exclaimed, her gaze fixated on the vibrant frosted confection.
With a smile, Naomi approached the counter. "I'll take one strawberry cake and one chocolate cake, please," she said, her voice cheerful.
The lady in charge of the bakery nodded, her smile wide as she calculated the cost. "That will be 100 Jewels."
Naomi paid for the cakes, a content feeling washing over her. She turned to Erza, who was practically bouncing in place with excitement. With a flourish, she handed the strawberry cake over to her younger sister. "Here you go!"
Erza's eyes widened with joy as she took the cake, and without missing a beat, she dug in. Naomi couldn't help but chuckle as she watched Erza devour the cake at an impressive speed.
Slow down, Erza," Naomi laughed. "Or else you'll—"
I'll what?" Erza paused mid-bite, looking up with a mischievous grin.
—end up with a stomach ache!"
Okay, Onee-san!" Erza replied, a twinkle of playful defiance in her eye. She took a slower, more measured bite this time, savoring the delectable flavors.
As they settled at a nearby table, their laughter and chatter filled the air, creating a little bubble of joy amidst the hustle and bustle of the bakery. Just as they began to enjoy their sweets in thoughtful silence, a familiar voice broke through.
Hey, you two!" called out Gray, standing at the entrance. He was shirtless, a few droplets of water glistening on his skin from the shower he'd just taken as he was clearly in search of his friends.
Naomi raised an eyebrow, a smirk creeping onto her lips. "What's up, Gray? Lost your shirt again?"
Gray shrugged nonchalantly. "Makarov is about to make an announcement. He's waiting for you guys to get back."
Not sure," Gray replied, his tone casual. "But it's important. Come on, let's hurry!"
Naomi exchanged a knowing glance with Erza, and without hesitation, they carefully packaged the remaining cakes. With Erza holding tightly to her strawberry cake, they followed Gray out of the bakery. The trio made their way through the vibrant streets of Magnolia toward the Fairy Tail guild, anticipation buzzing in the air.
As they approached the bright and welcoming doors of the guild, Naomi could hardly contain her enthusiasm. Today had been a day of triumph, and the sweetness of the strawberry cake paled in comparison to the joy of their friendship and accomplishments.
