One afternoon, after a particularly grueling training session, you found yourself alone on the rooftop of the agency.

The city sprawled out before you, a labyrinth of steel and concrete bathed in the golden hues of sunset. The air was crisp, carrying with it the distant sounds of traffic and the hum of urban life.

It was peaceful up here, away from the prying eyes and the constant demands of hero society.

"Contemplating the view?" Todoroki's voice broke the silence as he approached, his footsteps quiet against the rooftop gravel. You glanced over your shoulder, finding him standing there, his eyes fixed on you with that same, unreadable expression.

"Something like that," you replied, your voice even.

He walked over, his gaze shifting to the skyline before settling beside you.

You felt yourself bristle at his presence, the way he seemed to have a knack for finding you when you least wanted company. A small part of you cursed Endeavor for making his son like this—always seeking something—approval, connection, perhaps even comfort.

It made him clingy in a way that was almost pathetic. He tried to hide it beneath a stoic mask, but it was painfully obvious to someone like you who knew what to look for.

Todoroki settled down next to you, sitting on the edge of the rooftop with his legs dangling over the side. You shifted slightly to put a bit more distance between you, keeping your gaze fixed ahead.

"Endeavor's pushing us pretty hard," Todoroki said, his voice carrying a hint of weariness.

It wasn't a complaint—he was too used to his father's methods for that—but it was an observation, a statement of fact.

You hummed noncommittally, not really in the mood for small talk. You felt his eyes on you, waiting for some kind of response. When you didn't immediately give him one, he pressed on.

"You don't seem bothered by it," he continued. "The training, I mean. Most of the sidekicks struggle to keep up, but you... it's like you're unfazed by it all."

You turned your head slightly, giving him a sidelong glance. "Why should I be bothered?" you asked, your tone laced with indifference. "If anything, it's useful. I'm learning. Isn't that what we're here for?"

He frowned slightly, as if contemplating your words. His brows knit together, his expression one of mild frustration. It was almost amusing, the way he seemed so determined to understand you.

You could see the conflict in his eyes—the uncertainty, the curiosity, the need to make sense of the puzzle that was you.

After a moment, he sighed, shifting his gaze back to the skyline. "You're different from the others," he said quietly, almost to himself. "You don't let anything get to you. It's like you're always... in control."
