The next day, the sharp scent of antiseptic lingered, mixing with the staleness of the hospital air. Bright lights shone overhead, casting a harsh, almost unnatural glow across the white-tiled floor and the neatly tucked sheets on your bed.

You stared blankly at the small group of police officers standing at the end of your bed, their presence a stark contrast to the sterile tranquility of the room.

It wasn't long ago, during your sling and wound change, that they had entered—ushered in with a curt knock. The head of the group, Tsuragamae Kenji, stood front and center.

His canine features made him distinct from the others: a humanoid dog with a stern face, a mix of fur and sharp lines, his eyes holding an unyielding intensity. His deep voice cut through the room as he spoke, his gaze fixed on you.

"Akuma ____," he began, his tone carrying a weight that demanded attention. "I wanted to commend you for your hand in capturing the Hero Killer, Stain." He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as though assessing your reaction.

You remained silent, your expression blank, offering nothing in return. His words hung in the air, and he cleared his throat before continuing.

"Your skills were noted, particularly during the USJ incident, and again here in Hosu. However," his tone shifted, a note of disapproval creeping in, "you need to understand the severity of interfering in these situations. Especially when confronting a villain like Stain head-on."

He hesitated, glancing at the other officers briefly before looking back at you. "We already spoke with Midoriya and the others before coming to you." He seemed to emphasize the word, his eyes watching you carefully, as if trying to gauge your reaction. "They gave their statements, and let me be clear—while you did the right thing by alerting Endeavor, you should have never interacted with the villain yourself."

You blinked, your gaze still steady on him, but inside, your mind was calculating, each word dissected and analyzed. The mention of the boys' silence wasn't surprising.

You had anticipated it, orchestrated it even.

It was all part of the plan—an intentional move to stretch out the interaction just long enough to create the desired profile on Stain while keeping your own capabilities under wraps.

Every detail, down to the moment you alerted Stain of your presence, had been carefully scheduled.

Tsuragamae's voice pulled you back from your thoughts. "None of them mentioned you using your quirk, these... 'strings.' For that, I'll simply say this: think more about yourself. Try not to play hero. It could have ended very differently, and it was reckless. In this instance, we're giving Endeavor all the credit for the Hero Killer's capture."
