Fuyuhiko left his father's office, the weight of the situation hanging heavily on his shoulders. He couldn't sit still, the need to take action buzzing through him like electricity. As soon as he made it to his own office, he slammed the door behind him and immediately pulled out his phone. His fingers moved swiftly over the screen as he dialed the first number."Double the security at every entrance." he barked into the phone, not even bothering with a greeting. "I don't care how many men it takes. No one gets near the manor, got it?"
The voice on the other end stammered a quick confirmation before Fuyuhiko hung up and dialed another number, this time reaching the head of his father's private security detail.
"You're in charge of watching Hannah." Fuyuhiko snapped, his voice barely holding back the frustration boiling inside him. "I don't want her left alone for a second. I'll personally deal with anyone who screws this up."
Another rushed confirmation and Fuyuhiko ended the call, tossing his phone onto the desk. He dragged a hand through his hair, fingers tugging at the strands as he flung himself onto the sofa. He leaned back, letting his head fall against the cushions, staring up at the ceiling.
A heavy groan escaped his lips, frustration pooling deep in his chest. His mind was racing, the thought of what had happened to Hannah gnawing at him like a relentless itch he couldn't scratch. The wounds, the bruises, he had seen her battered body when they found her, and the image was seared into his brain.
How the hell had it come to this?
His hand moved to rub the back of his neck, trying to relieve the tension there, but it was useless. No amount of calls or security measures felt like enough. The thought of Saito, of that bastard still out there, scheming and plotting, made Fuyuhiko's blood boil.
His phone suddenly buzzed on the table beside him, pulling him from his thoughts. Frowning, he reached for it, narrowing his eyes at the unknown number flashing on the screen. His gut tightened. For a moment, he debated ignoring it, but something compelled him to answer.
With a sigh, he pressed the phone to his ear. "Yeah?" he answered, voice sharp.
There was a pause, a moment of eerie silence before a mocking chuckle came through the speaker. The voice that responded was low, dripping with venomous amusement. "Ah, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. I was wondering how long it would take you to pick up."
Fuyuhiko's entire body tensed, his heart rate spiking as he recognized the voice.
"How's little Hannah doing? Still crying like a wounded bird?" The words dripped with amusement and malice, the kind that instantly put Fuyuhiko on high alert.
"Saito." he growled, every syllable filled with contempt. His blood boiled at the sound of that name. "You piece of shit."
Saito chuckled again, clearly enjoying the reaction. "Now, now, no need for name-calling. I'm just concerned for the poor girl's wellbeing. I mean, after what we did to her... well, I'm sure she's a little... rattled, no?" His voice was dripping with mock sympathy, only fueling Fuyuhiko's rage.
Fuyuhiko shot up from the sofa, pacing furiously. "If you so much as come near her again, I'll personally tear you apart." His voice was laced with venom, but Saito didn't seem fazed.
"Oh? You seem protective, Kuzuryu. Tell me, how is it, seeing her so fragile? A girl like her doesn't belong in your world. She's soft. Delicate. Too easy to break."
Fuyuhiko's vision blurred with red hot anger. His hand shook as he gripped the phone tighter, knuckles turning white. Every word from Saito felt like a taunt, a jab at Hannah's suffering, and it enraged him to no end. "You think you're untouchable, don't you?" Fuyuhiko spat. "But I'm coming for you, Saito. You've made this personal."
