Later that evening, as Hannah lounged in her room, savoring a rare moment of solitude, a knock echoed through the wooden door. She sighed, knowing what it meant and reluctantly pushed herself off her bed, and made her way to her father's office.Mr Togami sat behind his grand mahogany desk, surrounded by walls lined with leather-bound books and priceless artifacts, a testament to the Togami family's wealth and influence. He looked up from his papers, his piercing eyes locking onto his daughter with a mixture of authority and expectation.
"Hannah, I need you to do something for me" he began, his tone leaving no room for argument. "The Kuzuryu Clan has procured a shipment of new weapons for us. I need you to go and pick them up tonight."
Hannah groaned inwardly, her mind flashing back to her encounter with Fuyuhiko earlier that day. The last thing she wanted was another run-in with anyone from that family. "Can't someone else do it? I've had a long day at school, and I really don't feel like dealing with them right now."
Mr Togami's gaze hardened. "Hannah, this isn't up for discussion. This is important business. I need to know I can rely on you."
She knew better than to argue further. With a resigned sigh, she nodded. "Fine, I'll do it."
Satisfied, Mr. Togami leaned back in his chair. "Good. Our driver will take you to the meeting place. Make sure everything is in order and bring the shipment back here."
A short while later, Hannah found herself in the back seat of a sleek, black car, the Togami Clan's driver navigating through the empty streets. The cityscape blurred past the windows, and her thoughts drifted back to her earlier confrontation with Fuyuhiko. The irony of the situation wasn't lost on her.
The car came to a halt in front of a secluded warehouse on the outskirts of town. The building loomed ominously in the shadows, its dark facade blending into the night. Hannah stepped out of the car, her breath forming small clouds in the cool night air.
She wore a black hoodie, its hood pulled up to obscure part of her face, and baggy shorts that gave her a casual, almost rebellious look. A black face mask covered her mouth and nose, further reducing any chance of identification. Her long brown hair was left down, cascading over her shoulders in loose waves, adding a touch of softness to her otherwise tough appearance.
As she approached the entrance, her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting. The warehouse loomed ahead, an intimidating structure with crates and boxes stacked high against the walls. She pulled the hoodie tighter around her, a subtle gesture to ward off the cold and the unease that came with being in a place of uncertainty. But as soon as she entered, she immediately felt a pair of eyes watching her.
Across the room, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu leaned casually against a crate, his sharp eyes taking in every detail of her appearance. He had heard plenty about the Togami "princess" from his father. Much about her defiance, her stubbornness, and the privileged life she led. And now here she was, standing before him, in the heart of his clan's operations. He straightened up, his posture radiating authority and barely concealed irritation. He was ready to put her in her place, not knowing that he had already had an encounter with the girl earlier that day.
Fuyuhiko's expression was inscrutable, a blend of curiosity and appraisal. He noted the way her clothes, though casual and utilitarian, still held an air of defiance. The black hoodie and baggy shorts were a stark contrast to the refined attire one might expect from someone of her status. Especially someone from the Togami family, who were known for their formality and professionalism. The face mask only added to her enigmatic aura, making her look both guarded and resolute.
His eyes then followed the line of her hair, the way it framed her face and cascaded down her back, a difference to the dark fabric of her hoodie.
Hannah instantly spotted Fuyuhiko, a dim light from a single hanging lightbulb, illuminating his figure from the rest of the dark room.
