Undercover

A/n: Hi Guys! I have come up with a new schedule for posting! I will post 3 times (ish) a week because I am coming up to a kind of stressful term because I'm still in uni/college so I have exams and study to do! I will try my best!

P.S what was I thinking? I'm not sticking to that haha.

Tim Bradford was pacing back and forth at their apartment, heart beating a million times an hour, and chewing his nails down to their core. Lucy, his girlfriend was deep into an undercover mission. It didn't matter how good she was at it, he would always worry about her. The original 2 week mission had been pushed to a month already and it wasn't done yet. He had little to no contact with her and with each day she was away for, the fear grew. 

Lucy was at her own table at a busy bar with live music and people chattering surrounding her. She adjusted her earpiece, her heart beating out of her chest. The bar was a known hangout location of a gang she was trying to bring down, well their leader, Miles Rewner, anyway. The stakes were high, the whole thing was dangerous, but she knew she had to do it no matter what her boyfriend's feelings were. 

Tim's phone buzzed, it was Angela Lopez, his friend and an officer. "Tim, we need to talk," she says as he answers his phone. "Is Lucy ok?"

"Yes Timothy, she is fine. But we need to talk about her,"

"I'm worried about her Ang, Lucy has been gone too long," he said anxiously.

"I know, I'm outside the bar. I thought you might want to come and watch her," Angela suggested. "Ok thanks, can you come pick me up?".

Once they make it to the bar, Tim is instantly flooded with relief to see his girlfriend alive and looking somewhat healthy. Tim looks deep into her eyes and they hold contact for a good 30 seconds before Lucy turns her attention back to the group. After a while Lucy moves from her table to the gang's table. "I want in," she says confidently.

"How do we know we can trust you? And what do you bring to the table - apart from your stunning looks" Miles says looking her up and down with a smirk across his face.

"I can transport product without getting caught. I got connections," she snaps, looking annoyed at the group leader. "Alright, take a seat,". The conversation keeps up and Lucy is told to meet them at the docks the next day at 7.

After a while of conversation, Tim's nerves keep increasing. "Lopez, I can't sit here and let her get herself involved in danger," he says clearly showing his stress. "Let's just observe for now. If she gets into a tight spot, we can intervene. But she needs to gather intel, and we can't blow her cover, Tim you know her, she is fine, she know's what she's doing," Angela urged, her tone firm. Tim agreed reluctantly. 

The group leaves and Lucy returns to her makeshift motel. She calls Harper on her burner. "Hey I have news. I'm meeting them at the docks at 7pm. I'm going to need backup, tomorrow is it. Tell Tim I'm coming home," Lucy said down the line. 

"Copy that, we will see you at the docks at 7pm for the arrest. Chen, are you ok?"

"Fine, thank you Harper, see you tomorrow,".

The following day, Lucy prepared for the meeting, aware of the risks but focused on the mission. Meanwhile, Nyla briefed Sergeant Grey, the supervisor, on the situation. Grey prepared a team for backup and called Tim to his office. "Bradford, as you know we are arresting the gang Chen has gone undercover to take on. I have to ask you not be there with the team and that is a direct order. I'm sorry," Grey says.

"Sir, with all due respect, Lucy is my girlfriend. I need to be there. For her. For me. For us. I can't just sit back and lose her. Not again. Not after..." Tim trailed off, swallowing the lump of disappointment and fear in his throat, not looking at his supervisor at all. "Son. We all love her. I'll be there. I'm not going to let anything happen to her. I will do everything I can to get her home to you tonight, and you have my word for that," Grey says.

"Sir-" 

"Go home Bradford. There is nothing you more you can do. We all need to wait till tonight. Until then our team is on standby in case anything goes south. She will be ok, after today you will both have some time off," Grey says in a comforting tone.

"Ok," Tim says looking at the floor, "if anything happens to her I swear...".

"Don't do that, it won't help,".

"Thank you Sir" Tim says nodding his head and walking out to the locker room.

6:30pm rolls around and the whole team is arriving at the docks to get into a secure and covered position. Tim, back at the apartment is pacing back and forth. Never in his life has he been so nervous. He hops into the shower to try to calm himself down but this ball of anxiety in his chest keeps on threatening to come up.

After sometime of preparation and the last of the unit gets into position. The gang members slowly start to show up. Lucy arrives and she has a conversation with the people. Once Miles decides to trust her he feeds her some information as to where the drugs are and where to transport them to on a printed document. 

Nyla Harper gives everyone the signal to go in as she listens to Lucy's audio. 

"Drop your weapons, hands where I can see them. You're under arrest for conspiracy, trafficking and selling of illegal substances. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say, can and will be used against you in the court of law," Lopez says as she arrests Miles Rewner. Other officers cuff the rest of the crew and a detective takes the documents from Lucy. Harper goes up to Lucy and pats her on the shoulder. "You ok? Ready to go home?" she asks. Lucy just nods with tears in her eyes. Angela comes back from arresting Miles and pulls Lucy into her arms. "Tim was so worried about you. He loves you so much and he missed you," Angela says. "I missed him too" Lucy manages to choke out, as well as, "I just want to go home to him,". 

"Let's do that Luce, I'll drive you straight there," Nyla says in a comforting voice as they walk to the car. In the car ride back Nyla explains that Grey has given Tim and her some time off to reconnect. "I will debrief you when you get back, just focus on getting used to living life again,". Lucy just nods and looks out the window tears sliding down her cheek. 

A/n: I'm going to do a part 2 I promise! It will be Tim and Lucy seeing each other again. It will be posted 2 days after this has been posted I think! Hope you enjoyed :)
