A/n: This is the third part! I think the last part will be next! Hope you enjoy <3
The precinct was buzzing with activity, but Lucy felt like she was in a fog. She had been battling morning sickness for weeks, and the fatigue had settled in like an unwelcome guest. As she tried to focus on her case file, a wave of nausea hit her. She closed her eyes, hoping it would pass.
"Hey, you okay?" Tim's voice broke through her thoughts. He had just walked over, concern etched on his face.
"Not really," she admitted, rubbing her temples. "I thought the morning sickness was supposed to get better after the first trimester."
"Sounds like a cruel joke," Tim said, his tone gentle. "Want me to grab you some ginger ale or crackers?"
"Maybe some crackers would help," she replied, grateful for his support.
Tim nodded and hurried off, returning a few minutes later with a small stash of crackers and a bottle of ginger ale. "Here you go, Doctor Tim reporting for duty."
Lucy couldn't help but smile at his lightheartedness as she took a cracker and nibbled on it. "Thanks. You really are the best."
"Just doing my part," he said, leaning against her desk. "How's the nausea?"
"Better, I think. At least for now," she said, her stomach settling a bit. "But I'm so tired. I feel like I could fall asleep at my desk."
Tim's expression softened. "How about we take a break? We can grab some coffee or just step outside for some fresh air."
"That sounds nice," Lucy agreed, appreciating his thoughtfulness.
They walked outside, and the fresh air felt invigorating. Tim guided her to a nearby bench, encouraging her to sit down while he grabbed a couple of cups of coffee from a nearby café.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm officially addicted to caffeine-free coffee," Lucy said, chuckling lightly as she settled on the bench.
Tim grinned as he handed her a cup. "I'm sure it's better than nothing. And I'm happy to indulge in decaf with you. Just a couple of two-for-one deals here."
She took a sip and sighed, feeling a bit more alive. "You really are going above and beyond. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Tim sat down beside her, resting his hand on her back. "It's nothing I wouldn't do for you. I want to make this as easy as possible for you."
As they talked, Lucy leaned back, a sudden twinge of discomfort shooting through her lower back. She winced, trying to mask it, but Tim noticed immediately.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, concern flooding his voice.
"Just some back pain," she admitted, shifting a little on the bench. "I think I've been sitting too much at my desk."
"Let's try something," Tim suggested, standing up and gently guiding her to her feet. "Here, put your hands on my shoulders."
"Wait, what are you doing?" Lucy asked, confused but intrigued.
"Just trust me," he said with a warm smile. "I'll help stretch it out a bit."
With a little hesitation, Lucy placed her hands on his shoulders. Tim slowly guided her through some gentle stretches, rolling her shoulders back and encouraging her to take deep breaths.
"That feels nice," she admitted, feeling some of the tension release.
"Good," he said, keeping his voice calm. "Let's try a few more."
As he continued to guide her through movements, Lucy felt the warmth of his touch and the care in his voice. It was comforting to know he was there for her, not just as a husband but as a partner through this journey.
"Okay, now, let's try a forward bend," Tim suggested, demonstrating the movement. "Just let gravity do its thing."
Lucy followed his lead, bending forward while keeping her hands on his shoulders for support. The stretch felt fantastic, and she couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
"See? You're getting the hang of it!" Tim encouraged. "And if this doesn't work, we can always get a massage chair or something."
"Sounds like a plan," she said, straightening up and feeling a bit lighter. "I definitely wouldn't mind a professional massage right about now."
Tim chuckled, pulling her into a gentle hug. "We'll make it happen. Just hang in there, okay? You're doing amazing."
Lucy leaned into him, appreciating the warmth of his embrace. "Thanks for being so understanding. I know I can be a handful sometimes."
"You're worth every bit of it," Tim replied, brushing a stray hair behind her ear. "Just remember, we're in this together. We'll figure it out as we go."
As they headed back into the precinct, Lucy felt grateful for Tim's support and presence. Though the discomfort of pregnancy was challenging, having him by her side made all the difference. Together, they would navigate whatever came their way—one step at a time.
