We were forced to leave the ship behind after that day since our next destination required a carriage instead of a boat. We returned once to gather our belongings, and Killian brought the person who was asleep on the boat. The fact that he hasn't woken up yet is really strange.

Currently, we were all watching Jin by the road leading out of the forest. The village we were in was about 8 kilometers from the western coast, and the place we were heading to was the main city.

The city of the west managed by the StarHold family, my and Jin's hometown. Both of us had unpleasant memories there, but we still decided to return. Jin closed his eyes for about a minute, and soon the mana around his hand started to distort strangely.

He could transform mana into a specific type of metal and natural fuel, then into a vehicle. Of course, this required a certain understanding, so his design was mostly rudimentary, lacking any required safety precautions.

At least we wouldn't need to buy horses or something similar... Although we are in the future now, that only applies to the five main cities and some areas directly surrounding them.

As for the coastal regions, they are straight out of the medieval ages. Even firearms can't be found here, let alone an advanced car. The path we would take was relatively safe since a forest separated us from the waves of monsters.

We might face the risk of encountering primitive monsters by taking this route, but the chance was very low. The west had the largest military force among the four royal families, so there were stable travel routes unlike other areas.

Of course, traveling from the coast to the western city was still very dangerous. Without Jin and Elara, I wouldn't have taken it. I would have waited for the annual StarHold forces specialized in driving out monster waves and traveled with them to the city.

But now, I felt safer going with Jin and Elara, not because they were stronger but because I trusted them more. At least I wouldn't die anonymously in my sleep. And Jin is now a complete killing machine; one of the family's elders would have to come personally to defeat him.

Time passed very slowly, but seeing a large carriage emerge from nowhere was worth the wait. It wasn't impressive in design, just a huge wooden platform with large wheels at each corner, and no engine even.

"There's a device that moves the wheels using mana. It consumes a lot, but I can't find another solution."

Just feeling the mana around each wheel was enough to terrify me. The total mana around the wheel was comparable to a B+ rank monster. After creating the platform and wheels, Jin placed a cover around it for protection and privacy, ensuring there were doors and windows.

Due to his lack of understanding of how cars worked, he would have to consume mana at a terrifying rate to move this vehicle. If we had a well-made car from the center of the human domain, half the fuel Jinn used now would be enough to run it for a lifetime.

Knowledge is that important...

Without any complaints, we boarded the carriage, trying not to think about the safety measures of this thing.

The carriage was at least large, about the size of a bus. Each person had a small room, and the corridor barely fit one person. Jin went to the front and started moving the carriage slowly.

"...", the shaking of the carriage made me speechless. I would have fallen if I hadn't prepared myself.

Even Elara and Killian looked at Jin with some concern, but no one said anything in the end. This was better than a horse-drawn carriage, at least, and faster too.
