Shino sits on his bed staring at the ceiling. It's 4 A.M. and he didnt sleep a minute. His mind lost in countless thoughts. He doesn't even dare to look at the clock.
5 A.M.
6 A.M.
7 A.M.
Won stirs awake.
"Shino? You're up already?
Shino snaps out of his mind.
"Eh...yeah. I just woke up earlier. No idea why."
He giggles nervous.
"You good?"
Won asks sleepy, but genuinely concerned.
Shino nods.
Won decides not to push.
He stands up and walks into the bathroom, to change.
As Won leaves Shino releases a breath he didn't even realize he was holding.
Then, accidentally, he looks at the clock.
He sees the seconds pass.
The minute.
And another.
And another.
And another.
He forces his eyes away from the clock.
He breathes heavy, but tries to calm himself down before Won comes back.
Shino stands up.
He walks to the window, watching the rain.
As Won comes back into the room, Shino calmed down.
He is still watching the rain.
Won stares at Shino for a moment.
Concern and worry flashing in his eyes.
"Shino? Are you sure you're okay?" Won asks eventually.
Shino just nods, not moving his eyes a bit.
Won clearly doesn't buy it.
He walks over to Shino, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Tell me the truth. Something is bothering you"
"No, really not...I am just thinking a lot lately."
Shino explains.
"Thinking a lot? About what?"
"The situation with the curse and Sun"
Shino lies.
But this time Won believes Shino's words.
"It's a complicated situation, huh? So much changed since...Jace betrayed us like this...but we'll get through this together. We still have us five. And we will stick together, forever. Just like we promised."
Won says, trying to support Shino a bit.
Shino nods, moving his gaze to Won.
He smiles warm.
"Thanks Won."
Won shakes his head.
"No need to thank me. That's why we are friends hm? Now go change too. The boys are probably already waiting for us."
Shino nods again and heads towards the bathroom with some clothes.
A few minutes pass and Shino and Won head towards the living room.
The boys eat together. They laugh and chat. Except Shino, who is normally always really happy, is now not saying a single word. Not even a smile.
But nobody notices, over their conversations and laughs.
Shino finishes his food.
He sees the clock again.
The seconds pass and pass and pass.
He tears his glance away again.
"Hey guys?" Shino finally speaks up.
But the others all are already standing and washing up.
Shino looks surprised.
"Oh? Hey he snapped out of it. Finally."
Won says with a chuckle.
"What? What happened?"
Shino asks confused. A few seconds ago they all laughed and...
"You've been like paralyzed. We tried to get your attention but you was completely gone."
Heesan explains carefully.
Shino stands up.
But instead of washing up with them he rushes into his and Wons room.
He runs into the bathroom, locking the door.
He stares into the mirror.
His blue eyes filling with tears and shimmer with fear.
He slides down the wall, curling up on the floor.
Seconds, minutes maybe hours pass.
A knock on the bathroom door snaps Shino out of his blank mind.
"Shino! Shino, please come out of there! What is going on with you?"
Nikis voice asks worried.
"Please Shino!"
Wons voice adds.
Shino stands up. His face stained with dried tears.
He opens the bathroom door slowly.
Won and Niki freeze at the sight of Shinos face and the impression in his eyes.
"Shino?"
Won asks, his voice quiet, like he would fear any wrong word could kill Shino.
Niki instantly hugs Shino.
Shino hugs Niki back soon after.
Won joins in the hug.
Soon Heesan and Jay join too.
The boys stand around Shino holding him.
They ask Shino what's wrong.
But Shino just can't answer.
As the hug breaks apart, Jay asks again, his voice gentle
"Shino...what happened? What is wrong?"
"Sun...." Shino mumbles.
Their eyes all fill with sadness and understanding.
They hug Shino again.
The day passed again. After dinner Shino helped wash up and went outside, breathing in the fresh air.
The smell of the passed rain still lingers in the air.
He looks at the water droplets on the grass and leafes.
After a while he goes back into the house.
The others are all in their rooms again.
Shino walks through the living room.
He sees the clock again.
Shinos heart fills with fear again.
Tick tick tick.
Seconds pass, seconds pass, seconds pass.
tick,tick,tick
Secondspass,secondspass,secondspass
"Make it stop....make it stop...stop! STOP! NO NO NO NO! ITS PASSING SO FAST! MAKEITSTOP!"
Shino punches into the clock.
The glass shattering loud and the clock face tearing apart.
Shinos hand covers in blood.
He pulls his hand away.
He looks at the broken clock.
"It stopped....finally..." Shino mumbles.
A plunge of black dust rushes towards Shino.
The bracelet is tangled in the shattered glass of the clock.
Niki, cuts through the, arm like, darkness.
His blade swinging effortless through it.
A little bit of the darkness disappears right infront of Shinos faced.
"Shino?! Are you okay! Please tell me I wasn't to late!"
Niki says hurriedly.
"I....I am fine."
Shino mumbles.
Niki untangles the bracelet from the shattered glass.
He hands it to Shino.
As he does, he sees Shinos bleeding hand.
"Wait...did you...?"
Niki doesnt finish his question.
He just looks worried at Shino.
The other boys come into the room as well.
Heesan rushes to Shinos side, looking at his hand worried.
He starts to heal it with his powers.
"What happened here, Shino?"
Jay demands.
"I am sorry...I just couldn't stand it anymore....how the seconds ticked away right infront of me..."
Shino mumbles.
"Shino, what is really going on with you?"
Won asks.
"I...I'm so scared...of time...passing....It makes me panic."
Shino explains.
Heesan looks up from Shinos hand into his eyes.
"Shino...was it that what bothered you all this time?"
Shino nods shy.
"Why haven't you told us?"
Niki pushes.
"I was...scared you would think that's a stupid thing to be scared of...that you would laugh at me, push me away..."
"Shino! You remember the promise we made right! We will always stick together! And that also means that we take each others fears serious."
Jay says serious.
"Exactly! And besides, it's not even a stupid thing to be scared of. Atleast that's what I think."
Niki says reassuring, with a warm smile.
"Fears are never stupid and, Shino, we are your friends. We always going to take you serious."
Heesan explains.
Won adds
"And we will always care about you."
The boys hug each other again.
