Why must my life be so hard? I pondered gazing at the t.v screen.

"KURO strikes yet again as is evident from Mr. Cho's body. Cho enterprises and property to go under JEON's according to the will."

The news flashed across the room. My heart clenched. I never - never - thought that my morning would start off with the gruesome discovery of Mr Cho's horrendous body at my workplace right after the isolation.

He had been such a good man. To think of him becoming the next victim of this killer was spine chilling. Especially for me - who had talked to him a week ago over the call - he wanted to tell me something about the Jeon's Enterprise - since I was the part of Finance Department - Was it this that he wanted to tell me?

This had been frustrating. There were more questions than answers.

I zoned out before I heard someone at the front door. It was five past thirty indicating Y/n's arrival before I welcomed her. The surprise on her face told me everything.

-

Our classes were finally over for the day as I returned back only to find unnie's footwear near the shoe rack outside. Hadn't she gone to work today? I rung the bell, only to be welcomed by her. She gave me a small smile that failed to reach her coffee brown eyes. Something surely was up.

"Surprise! Hadn't expected me right? Let's talk inside."

We walked in as her back faced me. No sooner did I walk into our hall than the television answered my question. The interview going on had made things clear as I stared at it in shock.

A man maybe in his mid 30s sat across the reporter. Lee-Joon - the C.E.O of JEON ENTERPRISES - the surrogate of the actual C.E.O JEON JUNGKOOK for now - The headlines read.

"So tell me Mr. Lee why hasn't Mr. Jeon been making any public appearances yet? Not even at Mr. Cho's funeral?"

Mr. Lee cleared his throat before voicing.

"Mr. Jeon would've come had he not been busy. You know, becoming the C.E.O at such a young age is overwhelming." he smiled.

"Are you sure that the only reason he couldn't attend was because he was busy?"

It didn't look like it but the question sure was a curt one. The fact that Mr. Lee's smile faded at the slightest before regaining it proved this fact. Paying attention to details were one of the advantages of being a student in forensic science I guess.

"What do you mean?"

Though he was smiling his voice was a sharp contrast to the calm demeanour he portrayed.

"Nothing. It just weird me outs how Mr. Jungkook became the heir right after his family's death though he had disappeared all this while. And the fact that he had been busy yet again when the news about the death of his family had come to light back then, doesn't it feel out of place?"

That was the last straw as Mr. lee glared at him.

"How dare you point your fingers at Mr. Jungkook's personal matters? You don't have the rights to do that!"

"Calm down Mr. Lee. The public has a right to know. That's what I'm trying to do."

The matters had become tense. Mr. Lee wasn't at ease yet.

"Alright. I'll not dwell into this matter anymore, but on one condition..."

"Which is...what?"

Mr. Lee narrowed his eyes at him as the reporter - Baek-Hyun - proceeded.
