I'm doing something different in this book. Kara and Monel are Seniors in highschool, Kara is graduating two years earlier with her sister's and Monel's class, since she had more knowledge and actually put in effort to school. One day as she walked...
Monel pov It was a sunny Saturday while I was out with Winn. We were passing a jewelry shop and all I could think about was Kara.
"Dude what's on your mind?" Winn asked taking notice of how I wasn't paying attention to him. "Just thinking about Kara." I told him honestly. "As we pass a Jewelry shop?" He was quite confused at my straightforwardness. "I know technically I'm an adult, but here in California if Eliza, who is her legal guardian signs a document of agreement, and Kara does the same, we could legally be married." I tried explaining desperately. "Also we don't need to be married in a month, we could do it whenever she's ready. I just wanna propose." "We could go in...." Winn said looking at me with a smile. "Winn Toyman Schott don't you dare play with me!" I said louder than expected. "I'm not. If you find a ring you really like I'll even chip in. I mean I'm practically Kara's best male friend- after you obviously, but I digress. I would be happy to help." Winn told me. "Alright let's go!" I said happily.
We entered the shop and I knew what I was looking for. An emerald ring with a simple gold band and two small diamonds on each side. Simple yet elegant and classy. Just like Kara. "Good morning welcome to- Winn! Mike! How are you guys?" Eve said behind the counter. This is gonna soundboastful but I can always tell who's crushing on me and Eve was crushing hard. I gave a small polite smile and continued as if she wasn't staring at me with want in her eyes. "Hey Eve, may I please see your emerald selection?" "Sure! Anyone specific?" She asked the moment I finished. "Yeah, but I don't think you need to know about that right now." I had told Eve this because knowing her she'd probably tell Lena and then have Lena tell Kara. "Alright....." Eve said turning around. She came back with a small velvet box and it had an array of rings in it.
My eyes immediately met the ring on the bottom right corner. Man it just screams Kara. "Bottom right please." I said as soon as she placed the box down. "Well either you've seen our rings before or your quite the straightforward man!" Eve chuckled at me. "How much?" I said ignoring her compliment and moving my wallet out of my bag. "$250" she replied. Luckily I had $200 in my wallet so I turned to Winn and asked him for $50. I paid upfront in cash which surprised Eve but she put the ring in a small coral box. It was so beautiful. (For my fellow ADHDers here's the picture)

"Man I can't believe you just bought a ring!" Winn yelled happily at me as I put the ring away.
Kara pov I think I just heard Winn tell Monel that "he can't believe Monel just bought a ring." I don't think they noticed me honestly. If that was true I was about to panic. I mean I know we can legally get married but neither of us have our GED!
"Who bought a ring now?" I said as I hung off Monel's shoulder gently kissing the spot on his neck I could reach.
Winn pov Oh shoot! Kara had been there she knows! I had to cover up my words quick. "Huh? Girl what you been hearing. I said I can't believe we never got chicken wings!" I said nervously hoping she wouldn't sense the tone in my voice. "Walking out a jewelry store?" She questioned me smirking.
Monel pov "Eve was in there working and had chicken wings and a free coupon she wanted us to have for bringing her the homework she didn't get." I said trying to cover Winn's horrible lie. "Okey dokey....." Kara said suggestively. "Now Winn if you wouldn't mind I'd like to spend the rest of the day with my girlfriend...." I said looking at him with a small smile on my face. "Alright!" Winn said before crossing the street immediately. I moved Kara off my shoulder and intertwined our fingers.
I walked with her head on my shoulder in content silence, for about half an hour until we got to National City Park. We walked over to a bench at the back since there were kids around and we knew at some point we'd be kissing.
Kara pov Is it weird that I enjoyed the walk to the park with Monel more than I was enjoying sitting side by side? I guess that's just how I work.
Monel pov Kara and I were contentedly chatting away about whether Zendaya was a better Anne Wheeler or MJ. "Mm nope no way! Zendaya as Anne was perfect!" Kara said loudly. The park was pretty packed so no one really noticed her. "Ummm MJ for life Kara!" I said back at her. "It's so funny how Tomdaya acted out a movie based on actual people."(For the sake of the book Tom played spiderman and Andrew Garfield is actually spiderman/Peter Parker) "Yeah it is...."I said back to her. Kara was still defending Zendaya as Anne while I was thinking. She was so protective and honestly really funny. Just then as we sat there I realized that this was the perfect moment. THIS with her golden hair blowing in the wind, her blue comets being hit by the light of the sun shining through the leaves. I realized right then that eventhough we were really young, I wanted to be with her forever. I didn't even realize what was happening until I started talking
"Kara...." "Hm?" She looked calm awaiting my next words. "Be mine?..." I said extremely nervous. "I am, I mean we're dating aren't we?..." She responded unsure of what I was going on about. "I mean like..... Kara Victoria Zorel, you have honestly made me really happy the past year and a half of our lives...." I was sweating bullets waiting for her to give me a cue to continue. "Oh my gosh......." She said like she just realized what's happening. "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I don't want anything about our relationship to change, except it's stutas... Kara will you marry me?" I asked trying to hide the shaking tone in my voice. I pulled the ring out of my bag and opened it.
Kara pov "....Kara will you marry me?" Those words hit me like a dozen arrows. Suddenly I had gone from praising Zendaya's appearance as Anne Wheeler, to answering the second hardest question to ever be asked.
I saw Monel remove a small coral, velvet box out of his bag. Given the question I could already guess the boxes content. He opened it to reveal a beautiful emerald ring. I love him so much and I also want to spend the rest of my life with him. "Yes! Yes! So many frickin times yes!" I practically scram. I gently shut the box and gave him the tightest hug I think I ever have.I pulled away and he re opened the box and slipped the ring onto my finger.
Monel pov I took a quick picture of Kara and sent it to Alex and Eliza. Of course I had asked Eliza and Alex to marry Kara. They both just told me "If she says yes we can't stop you."
I sent the picture and followed it with /Guess who said yes!/ I was estatic and spent the rest of the day making out with her at the back of a restaurant.
