I'm doing something different in this book. Kara and Monel are Seniors in highschool, Kara is graduating two years earlier with her sister's and Monel's class, since she had more knowledge and actually put in effort to school. One day as she walked...
Kara pov "......and your jealousy is very welcome!" I heard Monel say as I entered the cafeteria today. "Hi" he said as he pressed my lips to his, gently but quickly. "Who's jealousy is very welcome?" I ask as we sit at a table. "Everyone, I told everyone we were engaged." He beamed at me like a child showing their mom a piece of artwork. "How did they take it?" "Good they all had smiles so..." I took a look around. The smiles weren't smiles of happiness, they were smiles of mockery. I ran out of the cafeteria tears flooding my eyes.
In the halls it was worse, not only the stares, but my heavy breathing. "Hey Danverse! Or should I say Mathews? Anyways I wanna know how to propose to my girlfriend to get her to marry me young like you are!" A kid down the hall yelled. "Hey! Back off! Who do you think you are anyways?! Huh?! A bully a punk! Or an all around jerk!" I heard a familiar voice say. ;I brought her back! But she's straight!;
Maggie pov I couldn't just let my practically baby sis get bullied. "Aww sawyer, what are you doing? You're ruining all the fun!" Another boy said. I saw Kara shed a couple tears as she just stood there and let all the comments settle in. "Just go away!" I yelled at them and leaned down to help Kara up.
We walked silently to the bathroom but the other girls weren't any nicer. "Ooooohhhhh look it's Mrs. Kara Mathews, she's gonna be a mom at seventeen and drop out of college I can already see it!" One of them mocked as we walked in. Kara set her bag on the sink top and washed her face. She re-applied her makeup and we left. There were a lot of mean comments while she was doing that. Some even accused her of doing it just to sleep with Monel.
Kara pov I walked alone to Biology. I had asked Maggie to leave so no one would think I needed a protector. Though it felt like I did right now. Seeing Monel made my day way better.
"Mike!" I yelled as I ran into his arms. I hugged him close to me almost forgetting all the looks we were given. "We have our presentation today..." I said trying to hide my heavy breathing. "Yup. By the way... don't worry about all the stares, we love each other and that's what matters." We walked into class and our teacher called us up front to present.
I started talking first. "Our presentation today is on whether or not caffeine can promote plant growth." I said as kids pointed and gawked at Monel and I. "Yes, caffeine does affect plant growth, and its impact can vary depending on the concentration and the type of plant. Caffeine is an alkaloid that can have both positive and negative effects on plants." I then looked at Monel so he would continue.
Monel pov "In low concentrations, caffeine can stimulate plant growth by promoting root development and enhancing seed germination. It may also help plants resist certain pests and diseases. However, at higher concentrations, caffeine can be toxic to plants. It can inhibit seed germination, reduce root growth, and even lead to plant death." Because of my superhearing I could hear all their comments on our engagement.
"The mechanism behind these effects involves caffeine's role as an allelochemical, which means it can influence the growth of other plants nearby, often suppressing their growth through competition for resources." Kara continued smiling at me.
"Overall, while caffeine can have beneficial effects in moderation, excessive amounts can be detrimental to plant health." I noticed that even though everyone was gawking at us our friend group was listening intently.
"In summary, caffeine can both positively and negatively affect plant growth depending on the concentration used." Kara had finished her lines.
"Answer: Yes, caffeine affects plant growth positively in low concentrations and negatively in high concentrations." I finished as everyone clapped while we sat down.
"Good report you two. I give it an A. I would've done A+ but I feel like you two are making a dumb choice getting married in like a month!" Our teacher said which made Kara blow her top.
Kara pov "OH MY GOODNESS!!!! WE AREN'T EVEN GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR!!! GUYS WHAT THE HECK! MS. JENKINS RESPECTFULLY YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE US GOSH!!!!" I sat back down in my chair and put my head on Monel's shoulder as I heard a large amount of "Sorry Kate..." Coming from my classmates. (Explanation before y'all skin me! It's still Kara just in school and to some other people in Midvale she's Kate not Kara)
Monel pov I knew Kara was a strong independent woman but this.... this was a complete turn on. Luckily for me biology was out last class.
No one's pov Biology finished and Monel walked Kara back to his house. Kara texted Eliza to tell her that she would sleep at Monel's and they'd see her tomorrow. They got inside and Monel saw his parents in the kitchen. "Hey mom, we're going to go up to my room." Monel said looking at Kara out of the corner of his eye. "Use protection you two. And Kate, would you like to stay for dinner?" (Kara had told Mike's parents that her name was Kate). Kara blushed slightly as she agreed to the lady's offer. "Umm may I also stay the night?" She asked as they were about to leave for Monel's room. "So long as you two are actually sleeping by ten..." The mother replied. "Yes ma'am." Kara said comedically.
Kara and Monel walked up to his room. As soon as they entered Monel leaned down and kissed Kara passionately. They made out a little while longer before sleeping together.
The next morning Kara woke up early and picked out a baggy outfit from Monel's closet since she didn't have time to go home and she couldn't re-wear yesterday's clothes. Her and Monel decided to match outfits just for fun and so they did. They went the whole day being a cute engaged couple and sat for final exams in all classes except Biology.
Later in the evening Kara post a picture of her and Monel on her insta.

The whole friend group passed and we're ready for graduation.
Eventhough graduation seems like a reasonable place to end the book I'm gonna end it around when Kara becomes a reporter at CatCo. So there's a lot more book left. And they might have a kid though I'm enjoying Karamel fluff I want them to have a kid. Xoxo Skylar Happyday ❤️
