i was awaken by a loud knock on my bedroom door. i slowly opened my eyes and spoke.

"come in." i said as i sat up on my bed.

the door opened and it was my bestfriend, jenna, walking in holding a tray that had bacon, eggs, 3 pancakes stacked ontop of eachother, and a cup of orange juice.

she then started singing "happy birthday" as she walked towards my bed. i just chuckled in response. she placed the tray on my lap and sat beside me.

"bon appétit!" she said with a big smile on her face.

"thank you." i said as i took a sip of my orange juice. it was silent for a few minutes before she spoke.

"you better eat everything on this tray. i almost burnt down our kitchen while making all this!" she sarcastically said.

"are you kidding?!" i turned to her laughing. she sighed then chuckled as she layed back on my bed.

i love my bestfriend.

she's truly the only one who stayed. i'm so glad i met her. she has helped me through everything, and has always been there for me in every situation.

she was there for me when my parents passed away, she helped me get over my first breakup, she saved me from ending my own life, she was always there for me when no one was.

i'll forever be grateful for her.

after we graduated college, we decided to move into a newyork apartment together. which was the best decision we both have made.

"i have a whole day planned out for your birthday, so you should finish quick and start getting ready cause we have a shopping spree to complete." she sat up and smiled before leaving my room.

i finished up my breakfast and started getting ready.

a cold breeze softly hit our faces as we entered the mall. jenna excitedly held my arm as we walked around.

"today is gonna be the best day we have ever had, trust me." she said as she squeezed my arm. i let out a chuckle.

we kept walking around till we spotted sephora, we immediately went in.

"gosh, i need alot of things from here actually." i said as we walked in.

"well then go for it birthday girl!" jenna let go of my arm and patted my back. i smiled and we both started looking for makeup products that we needed.

after that, we continued our shopping spree by buying from other shops and brands.

"also, that dress that you picked? my god." i hyped up jenna's fashion taste as we walked out of a zara.

"i'm telling you i genuinely need to become a fashion stylist!" she replied.

"okay, don't get your hopes up." i said before we both bursted out laughing as we continued walking around the mall

"am i the only one that's craving a oreo milkshake?!" she said.

as soon as she said that, i spotted our favorite coffee shop. we both stopped and looked at eachother, a smirk grew on our faces and we started laughing before running to the cafe. gosh, she wasn't kidding when she said that this would be the best day.

eventually we both got our milkshakes and started drinking.

"mmm!" jenna slammed the table with her hand. "they do not play with these milkshakes."

"right." i said as i took another sip of my milkshake. we both went back to drinking.

there was a few seconds of silence as we both enjoyed our milkshakes, then jenna spoke.

"so, did hybe call you or anything recently?" jenna asked.

i stopped sipping on my drink and spoke, "i got an email yesterday that they've already picked 6 members and will be announcing them soon, don't know when though." i said as i moved my straw around in the drink. my face expression changed.

"ji-yeong, come on, think positively." she said and held my hands.

"i promise you'll get accepted. i mean, think about it, you have it all! visuals, talented singing, amazing dance, everything!" she continued to comfort me.

"and even if you don't get accepted, that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. you don't need to quit dancing, continue being you. you only live once!" she held my hands tight as she reassured me.

i slowly nodded and smiled softly. "you're right." i said as i took a sip of my drink.

she smiled back.

"now, let's take some pictures." jenna pulled out her phone and we started talking pictures together.

eventually, we made it back home and decided to do a movie night. each of us got into our comfiest pajamas.

after that, we grabbed snacks to go with the movie. such as, popcorn, candy, chocolate and much more.

"bring the popcorn bowl to the table and get the movie ready, i'll be there in a minute." i told jenna as i was organizing a tray of snacks. she nodded.

once i was done organizing all the snacks, i turned around to walk over to the living room.

"did you get the movie rea-" i paused.

my bestfriend's jaw was wide open as she stared at my computer with her eyes shot up.

i raised a brow. "uh, jen? you okay?" i asked as i walked to the living room and placed the tray on the coffee table.

"ji-yeong."

"yeah?"

"you just got accepted into hybe."
