"alright ji-yeong, i think that'll be enough for today. you did well." i heard my manager say. i nodded and left the recording studio.

the concept for our song is gonna be retro and the song will be titled 'Too Vintage.' so far, it sounds amazing.

i walked into the dance studio that my members were hanging out in. once they saw me, they started cheering for some reason. i chuckled in response.

"did you finish recording your lines?" su-yeon asked as she walked up to me.

"no, i only recorded a few lines. the manager told me to continue tomorrow." i responded as i placed my bag on the ground.

"what? that's not fair, he forced me to finish all my lines!" ji-ho complained. we all laughed.

"guys, is it just me or am i the only one who feels like it hasn't hit me yet that we're going to become idols?" su-yeon said as we all sat down on the floor. "same! i feel like it's gonna hit us when we win an award or something." hye-jin responded. we all agreed with her.

"who do you guys want to collab with in the future? personally, i want to collab with Newjeans." i said.

"stop, me too!" ji-ho said excitedly. "i'm such a big fan of them." she said.

"i really want to meet IVE! god, if i meet wonyoung, i'll go crazy." hyejin said. we chuckled at her words. "i agree!" hana responded.

"oh my god, if we collab with Enhypen, i will go insane." ji-ho said. i paused and looked at her.

"stop, yes! especially jake." iseul responded. my heart stopped when i heard that name.

jae-yun.

"he's so talented. and kind of cute." a smile grew on iseul's face. i raised a brow at her.

"woah," su-yeon chuckled. "that seems like a crush to me." she teased. iseul covered her face in embarrassment in response. they all chuckled. "iseul has a crush!" ji-ho joined in.

"wait, aren't ji-yeong and him friends?" hyejin suddenly said. everyone turned to me. fuck.

"really?" i-seul looked at me. "is this true, ji-yeong?" she said. i froze.

"what- what do you mean? no i'm not." i started to laugh nervously. "i don't even know him.."

"but i saw you guys talking at the barbecue restaurant we went to, and it seemed like you two get along pretty well." hye-jin said. i paused, not knowing what to say. the whole room went silent as i quickly tried to think about any excuse.

"well, uh.." i thought.

"..we used to be really good friends back in high school." i smiled awkwardly.

"aha.." they all immediately said, believing me easily. but i-seul didn't take her eyes off of me.

"okay but, what's wrong with that?" iseul said, glaring.

"what?" i responded.

"i mean, it seemed like you were embarrassed to admit that, why?" she said. i went silent for a moment.

"it's uh," i cleared my throat, "something happened between us, so." i chuckled nervously. they all went quiet and kept staring at me.

i-seul spoke, "oh? and what's that something-"

"iseul, enough." su-yeon said which made i-seul and the rest of us go quiet.

we all went back to talking normally. i did not want anyone knowing what happened between jae-yun and i.

as we were chatting and laughing, my phone started to ring. i took it out of my pocket and saw that it was my cousin. i stood up and spoke. "excuse me." i smiled and left the studio.

i answered once i left the dance studio. i put the phone up to my ear and spoke.

"hey!" i said.

"ji-yeong! what are you doing right now?" she responded.

"oh, nothing really. i'm just hanging out with my members." i said. "why? is something wrong?"

"no, no." she said. "i just wanted to see if you were free to pass by, i wanted to see you."

"ah," i chuckled. "yeah, i'm free! i'll be there." i said.

"great! i'll order something!" she said. "see you soon, my little sister." she said in a teasing voice, i let out a nervous laugh.

i hung up and went back into the studio to grab my stuff. i said bye to my members and made my way to the elevators. i pressed the button and waited for it to open up.

once it did, i saw jae-yun and one of his members walk out. we both paused.

"h- hello." i smiled awkwardly and gave them a bow of respect. his member did the same. but he stayed still, just staring at me.

i then walked past them and entered the elevator. gosh, that was embarrassing.

i made it to the lobby and was about to leave when i suddenly heard someone call out my name.

"ji-yeong!" i turned around and saw jae-yun.

"jae-yun?" i said. he continued to run towards me.

"hey." he chuckled, sounding out of breath. "hi." i responded.

he licked his lips as he tried to catch his breath. "wait." he cleared his throat as he continued breathed heavily. i stared at him with a blank face.

"you know, it was kind of rude of you not to bow back to me back there." i sighed and looked away. he paused.

"what?" he said. "i- i didn't?"

i scoffed. "you should've done the same. do you know how embarrassed i was?" i looked back at him. he kept quiet.

"i'm sorry, i didn't realize." he responded.

he suddenly chuckled. "maybe i was just shocked by how good you looked." he said in a teasing voice as he chuckled. i raised a brow and punched his arm.

"hey! are you crazy?!" i shouted. his expression changed.

"ay, i'm joking." he said. i scoffed and rolled my eyes.

he then cleared his throat and spoke, "anyways, i just wanted to say thank you." he said. "my friend really liked the book." i paused.

"really?" i said.

"really." he responded.

he sighed. "he really praised my taste." a slight grin grew on his face. i paused once again.

"..you're taste?" i said. "ay! did you seriously say that you were the one that picked it?!" i raised my voice. he bit his lips as he let out a chuckle.

"i'm kidding, i'm kidding," he said, chuckling. "i told him you helped me pick it out." he said. i stared at him in disbelief for a few seconds before thinking of something.

"ah, so you talked about me to your members, hm?" i slightly grinned. he paused.

"wow, you're so confident." he patted my shoulder. "calm down." he chuckled. i scoffed.

"whatever." i said and left.

he seriously has the guts to flirt with me? gosh, he's so selfish.
