When i woke up, i felt an arm around my waist and i looked down to see a sleeping lover on my chest, i smiled abit to myself but the events of yesterday flooded my brain
The way she looked with that raggedy ass man over her, was pure fear. I dont want anyone to hurt her again, ever.
I kept thinking of different ways of making the man's life living hell when i felt lover stir awake
when she opened her eyes and realized she was laying on me, she was quick to apologize
"Shit- uh im sorry i didnt know how i-" before she could finish her cute rambling i cut her off
"Shh, its alright" i reassured her and she nodded, slowly laying back down beside me, with an empty look on her face
It was as if the light in her had dimmed down
I felt horrible for her, but i couldn't do anything
"you okay?" I asked, and moved a strand of her hair to the side and she nodded, still staring blankly
"wanna go eat something?" I asked her, praying she would say yes but i knew the answer was the opposite, and it was.
She shook her head no "dont feel like it" she mumbled and stared again
"Ill get you something" i got out of bed before she could reply and rushed down stairs to the dining room where 1989, folklore, speak now, midnights and evermore
"hey guys do we have any food?" I questioned
"Uh im having animal shaped cereal" midnights chipped in
"That wont do..she would feel bad for eating them.."i continue looking around
"Whos "she?" " 1989 asked
"New woman?" Evermore smirked
"Lover" i said and they all kind of just looked stumped
"Lover? Since when do you care about her..like..at all?" Midnights asked
"Its-its just i dont know okay its complicated but shes not..well right now" i didn't want to reveal the full truth in respect to lover
"Complicated? Reputation, by the tone of your voice and the subtle pause in your sentence i'm concluding that lover isnt just "not well" is she?"
How does the fuck does folklore do that? Is she reading my mind
"I cant say okay, its not my place, she just needs some space" i said and looked for some canned soup or something when i felt someone tap on my back
I turned around and it was pink- i mean, lover. She was wearing an oversized hoodie and matching sweatpants with fluffy socks. She looked adorable
"hey you alright?" I asked quietly, not wanting the others to hear
"yeah, i just- i wanted to be with someone, i didn't want to be alone" lover said quietly
I looked into her blue eyes but it seemed faded, i felt horrible
"okay just go have a seat and i'll be right there kay?" I said and she nodded and she proceeded to go have a seat
"Hey lover" 1989 said and lover smiled abit and looked at something else, not giving her a vocal response
"You good dude?" Midnights asked and lover nodded, not making eye contact with her either
"Are you mute? Say something" Midnights was clearly high and drunk and hungover all at the same time but that was crossing my line
"Midnights stop it leave her alone" i said sternly and i glared at her
"whatever" she said and left the room
"Im so sorry about her lover-" she quickly said and rushed out of the room and evermore and folklore did too because they had to go "get new materials" or something so it wad just me and lover in here
After i finished preparing the soup and brought it over to her, she whispered a quick thank you and had her first scoop
"this is really good rep" she told me "Its canned" i smiled awkwardly "Well its the effort that counts" she said
"How are you feeling?" I asked and she shrugged
"Rep?" She looked at me
"yeah?" I replied
"Why did you say that yesterday?" She asked but she looked abit more hurt but i was so confused as to why
"Say what?" I had no clue what she was talking about
"Yesterday at the party, georgina was talking about me and you were agreeing with her" she eyebrows furrowed slightly, her eyes looking abit more glossy
Shit..I remember now.. what was i thinking? Why would i say that? Stupid reputation
"I-i dont know, i didn't mean to.. i just- got caught up in the situation? I swear i dont mean it lover" i told her, praying she would believe me
She just nodded silently and slowly went back to her soup
I actually felt horrible now, what was worse was when she was looking at her soup i saw a tear stray from her eyes but she looked away thinking i couldnt notice
"Hey, i swear i didn't mean it" i tried to reassure her
"the- then why did you say it rep? what is wrong with me? why are you so mean to me then so nice to me? is it me? did i do something?" She rambled on
"Lover- lover it isn't you okay. I just.. i was in denial" welp here we go. You can do this reputation
"in denial of what rep? was it me? What did i do?" She questioned, with tears falling from her eyes
"i- i like you." Ive never heard silence quite this loud, i looked at lover and she had a face of confusion in her eyes
"i was going out with georgina cause- i was trying to gaslight myself into thinking i didn't like you" i revealed to her
