Chapter 5: The laptop call

The next day, I had made sure to dig my hole as fast as possible. When I finished and got up from it, I noticed I was the first one finished

"VICTORY!!" I yelled out

"What now?" X-ray groaned

"I finished my hole before you guys!"

"Wow, congrats" he said sarcastically

"Hmph!" I said, grabbing my shovel and leaving

Once I finished showering and getting changed, I had started making little drawings in a notebook I had packed. Until Mr.Pendaski came in the tent

"Oh, Zoey there you are! I was looking for you, here, your mom sent this to you" he said, handing me a package

"Oh, okay thanks" I responded, he then left

When i opened it. I realized it had been my laptop that I asked my mom to send

"Yes!" I exclaimed

I typed in the password and tried to get on chrome, but the wifi at CGL sucks so it took a while, but eventually it loaded

When it had finished loading, I decided to call my younger brother.

I typed in the username Zivathediva and clicked call

ZIVA'S POV

I was just laying on my bed until

"Call from zoeythebest555" a automated voice said

I had gotten up from my bed and answered the call

Back to Zoey's pov

"Yes!" I thought. My brother had answered

"Hello?" He said "Oh! Hey sis!"

"Hey!" I responded

"So how's camp so far?" He asked

"Eh, it's okay, we have to dig 5x5 holes everyday and have to choke down disgusting food everyday, but other than that it's not bad I guess"

"Oh" he responded. That's when I heard a meow through the screen, then a black fluffy cat came on the screen

"Aw, hey panther!" I said, waving through the screen. Panther was our family cat.

For a second, Ziva left the frame to lock panther out of his room, that's when zigzag came in

"Hey!" I said

"Hey, who ya talkin to?" He responded

"My younger brother."

"Ohh nice!"

Just then, Ziva came back in the frame

"Sorry about that- wait... who's that?" He asked

"Just a guy from my tent, his name is zigzag!"

"Who names their kid zigzag?!" He asked with a puzzled look

"No, no, not his actual name, his actual name is Ricky, Zigzag is just a little nickname, it's a tradition" I explained

"Ohhh anyway-"

"Ziva! Come down for dinner!" I heard my mom say

"Awww man. I got to go. But I'll call later, okay?" He said

"Alright! bye"

"Bye bye" he responded, and hung up I closed my laptop

"So, who was that?" Zigzag asked

"Just my little brother Ziva, he's 13 and plays baseball" I responded

"Baseball, nice"

"Yeah, anyway-"

Just then a loud bell rang throughout camp

"Well, I suppose we should get some food" zigzag said, getting up from my cot and offering me his hand, I took it and we walked to the mess room

"Where have you two been?" X-ray asked, glaring me up and down

"I was just on a call with my brother" I responded

"Wait, you can call people?"

"Well, yeah, I did on my laptop but the wifi here's sucks so everything took a million years to load

"Whatever" x-ray responded

After eating and hanging out in the rec room, I had headed back to the tent to change and get ready for bed

After that, I had put my hair in a braid, I was just getting ready to go to bed, until squid walked in

"Hey, what are you doing?" He asked

"What do you mean? I'm getting ready for bed"

"Not tonight, mom wants us to have a stupid therapy session or whatever

I groaned, "really?" I asked

"Yep, now cmon let's go"
